Back off our holiday and back to the decluttering for me this week
Youngest DD has outgrown some of her clothes (noticed whilst on holiday) so I have:
3 x pairs of jeans
2 x hoodies
1 x shirt
to go in the charity box.
I also have:
a coat I wore on holiday but I didn't really like it
a bra that doesn't sit right
2 x books that I finished reading whilst away.
So that's another 10 items to take out of the house on the next CS visit but I will have to buy DD some clothes to replace what I am getting rid of.2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
I'm logging in for some motivation!
I did the "declutter before putting house on market." Now our sale and purchase is progressing I'm hoping to do the "chuck out the stuff we really don't need cluttering up the new place while we have to gut it."
We have no children, but are expecting a Christmas baby.:j I know our new place will soon fill up with baby paraphenalia, and I don't need to keep an excessive amount of clothes I won't fit in any time soon.
I'm thinking of a room by room clearout, and am going to start today with the bedroom, cupboard by cupboard and drawer by drawer. We currently have fitted bedroom furniture, and will have none at all at first in the new place, til we get some fitted.
I'll let you know how I'm getting on - any tips would be gratefully appreciated.0 -
Good luck with the decluttering BabyBoots!! I'm just beginning the journey, but each thing I get out of the house feels like a relief.

I have tried all my jeans on and got rid of the most unflattering ones - I am still left with 8 pairs!!!! - In an ideal world I would perhaps have 3 - 2 blue ones and a black pair, but I'm not yet at the point of throwing things away for the sake of it (though my wardrobe would look neater). What does everyone else do????I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0 -

I have no plans next weekend (Vfest is not far from me so will be pretty much stuck in the house) so plan to get stuck in then and get at least one car load for the tip.
eta: Must remember to buy some more bin bags this week, lol.
Just can't seem to summon the energy today. *sigh*Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
Back in our bedroom today. I'm giving it a big clean. I have not decluttered much, just lots of bits of rubbish. I really need DH to sort through his stuff, hopefully happen next weekend.
I have a pile of papers to sort, I keep putting it off but I've promised myself I'll get it done this week - back to school soon.

One thing people often overlook is the clutter they are subscribed to!
Maybe an ad-free app or a subscription to a magazine seems like a good idea at first, but it piles up, and if you don't really use it much anyway, why not get rid of it?0 -
:T Well done to all for you decluttering achivements
I have finally read my personal emails, and over 100 emails have been deleted.

Well I think i got rid of over 1000 items today. Did a giant car boot- took 2 cars. I used 480 price labels so know that there was that much but then also at least 60 items clothing, lots of garden stuff and lots of items were bagged up in groups.
Stopped at Oxfam with 1 small box and 2 ikea bags of stuff on the way back. 2 big items (going to put on cheapcycle) plus 1 M&S longlife bag of stuff back into the house- not bad when started with 2 crammed 4X4 cars.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

Wow, you've got rid of loads please delete! Well doe everyone - it doe feel good to get rid
I had two big drawers of tops in my bedroom - one is now empty, so I'm pleased with that. There's a bag for charity, a bag for recycling and a small number of tops I'm planning to wear again after pregnancy that will go into packing for moving.0
