It's been very busy in my gardens in the last few days :D

Yesterday in my garden I decided I'd had enough of looking at the ivy coming in from next door and covering two of my fences, so I started trimming it back, and it was all coming off in my hands so I've gone right back to the fences :D

It's still on the top of the fences though as the size of the spiders I saw in there had me cutting teeny little bits off at arms length :o

I moved loads of stuff on into little pots. Nearly all my fruit trees have blossomed, are in blossom or are just about to come into blossom.

Need to get some shading put into my greenhouse today. It was 38 degrees in there at 9am  great for my grapevines but not so for all my seedlings

I accidentally bought another date palm on Friday- it's a 5ft one that was £20 in b&q. I need to find a nicer pot for it so that task will begin in earnest today :)

I thought of buying T&M's "free"tomatoes from the latest email offer. 4.99 P&P makes it 49 p a plant, that's not bad. Mine will probably germinate right after I click the button!

  • I have a hotbin and made about 100 litres of compost which I used this year, problem is I have tomatoes growing with everything!

An awful lot of the peas I planted didn't do anything but rot so have planted another 40 odd today, my DD's love eating them straight from the plant so I need to grow lots. Potatoes are doing really well in my large ikea blue bags (cheap skate me) lol. French beans are doing really well and I have about 40 of them in the second stage pots.

I put some cucumber seeds in today and hoping I haven't left it too late.

Losso rosso lettuce are doing well but need to keep an eye on my cat as they seem to make a comfy bed for him.....
  • Been at the allotment this afternoon. Sown some beetroot and carrots. The rest of my time was weeding which is really difficult at the bottom of my plot. I'm assuming its bindweed. Lots of white tubing type runners that run deep underground.

Been left for the past few years as the rest of my plot is beds. Am trying to get every last bit out which is going to be a long job but I WILL get on top of it this year!!

If you can keep on top of the bindweed it'll make a huge difference :)

I pulled up as much as I could, pulled up as much root as I could and left it for the winter. Now, at the first sign of anything poking up, it gets drowned in round up gel.

In other news, I found pots for my palm trees today :j they looked happy before but they look even happier today :D

:rotfl: I love it...I wonder if I can get away with saying I accidentally bought one??

I've managed to be very good this weekend and haven't bought anything unnecessary. I've also (finally) planted my raspberry canes and rhubarb. There's nothing left waiting to be planted...which means next weekend I think I can get away with buying something new :)

    Good Morning Campers.

I had a productive afternoon on Sat, moving my seedlings on to their own pots. I think however I was too early moving my tomatoes as only one of them seems happy about it.
Broad beans are looking rather chipper now they're on a pot.
Sweet peppers are starting to come up, as too as my potatoes.

They've been covered over twice, is that enough? Do I just let the plant come up now?

DH has lent out the drill so my gutter garden will have to wait a little while longer.

Scored some free compost, 4 giant bags, just need to get some fertiliser to add into it as I think its pretty old?

More seeds to get in today though, need to get a move on before I'm too late!

Argghhhh.... With only eight weeks to go until our eviction, all my lovely plants are showing off!

The first early potatoes have been covered twice and are now growing like fury - I swear you can HEAR them growing!

The dwarf French beans desperately need going into their big forever pots - the courgettes also and the tomatoes need potting on.

I am not enjoying this moving lark, especially as we still have nowhere to move to!! And this mother nature woman needs talking to as well.....all flipping winter she just sits there doing very little and then, come March, she dashes around like a fool....complete lack of forward planning in my opinion :))

welcome to the "couch Grass fighters' "club...Every bit of root I forget grows a new head. I must admit though it's not as bad as Mare's tail but close....apparently there's a herbal use for it, must find out what it's good for. Bet it tastes horrid :rotfl:
