Seller appears on doorstep...

but its not clear that the delivery person got the message not to deliver,
the door was knocked on
the door was opened
the buyer gets uppity with door knocker,
why would sellers rep go to the trouble to deliver and then just for no reason start abusing op, he can knock on any door in any street and do that if that was his game.
the op is with holding info and not being entirely truthfull, part of this story is missing from op. as we know there are 2 side to every tale, and op has be caught wanting.
Oh for goodness' sake - delivery person is spouse of seller (ie. 'is' the seller to all intents and purposes)!
Picking at nothing here?!*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

If you say so.
You would rather believe the version given by the OP is the only version?
- Male knocks on door.
- Op opens door and points to a "No cold callers" sign.
- Male becomes rude, waving hands around, threatening to report OP to ebay.
- Male gets back in car and drives off
Yeah, OP did nothing at all to provoke/encourage that sort of reaction - If thats even what the male did.
Am I the only one that finds your posting style about all this, rather.. strange?
They way you keep referring to the man at the door as 'the male', then implying that the OP 'provoked' 'the male' (being female???) and therefore somehow 'deserved it'?*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

-Male has long drive to destination. Maybe gets cut up by some bad drivers on the way, has work on his mind, meetings to get to etc.
-Gets to OP house
-OP opens door and says in surprise that they didn't expect him, they thought it was being posted
-Male, already annoyed, feels he has wasted his time and just gets angry
-Male walks off, gets in car and drives away
Yeah, very understandable and professional, leave them a positive then OP. Maybe recommend a good counsellor for 'the male' to help him with the stress caused by wife forcing him to do things too.! :rotfl:*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

what difference does it matter to you who brings your parcel
see item
click buy and pay
seller delivers item
that hasn't inconvienienced you in any way
p+p is chargable no matter who delivers, its not illegal or any business of ebay. its at the sellers discretion.0 -
Last year i sold 4 large items together.
AFTER buying, the buyer said they must arrive sat morning between 12 and 1 or she would cancel the sale and leave appropiate feedback. I was worried about my TRS status - so drove 50 miles each way to deliver.
I kept the £9.99 postage.
Like i said earlier - if i was in the area or passing - i would refund postage in full. But the above situation put me out.
I then sat back and worried about INR claim, or someone like the OP believing i invaded her space - but i actually got pos feedback - and rightly so.
Sorry but I just think that's a crazy response.
I can understand being worried about negative comeback here but the buyer is clearly being unreasonable - OTT so - so I would have stuck to the specified delivery times/method and darn well make sure, via reasonable comms with buyer and/or Ebay, that I didn't suffer for doing the reasonable thing! Yes, it's good to give great service but that isn't what this was, it was giving in to a sort of blackmail imo.*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

They've been fishing for days. They had all the answers, they just seem to find some strange amusement in making pointless statements.likelyfran wrote: »Am I the only one that finds your posting style about all this, rather.. strange?

Seller delivered next day, a courier or RM wouldn't have (as it wouldn't have been posted). So time makes a difference.
There was no postage or packing with the guy delivering it, why should anyone have to pay for a service they're not getting? If collecting there would be no P&P, why should it be any different the other way around when it was the seller who wished to hand deliver it?
Been through all this before anyhow in more detail so...I'll leave you to keep fishing for more on this.0 -

op did provoke the knocker by the point to the sign and being shirty cant you read attitude. the knocker was therefore provoked by op who was surprised when knocker arrived.

no matter what seller and knocker relationship is he may not have been informed by seller of the no don't dilliver he may have had 100 to deliver and got confused, he was male after all0 -

FWIW I think the OP should put up barbed wired around her entire perimeter and have an intercom at the end of her path so she can vet the callers.
ive suggested the same regarding the security
fotw is reported to be a paid employee of op0 -

Or perhaps, just get a life?
No. I'm not. I don't know them either. If you read other replies I'm sure you'd realise that I'm not them. It would be very confusing if it were the case as I'd be trying to reply to myself, we have totally different writing styles and whatever else. I've also admitted to not knowing certain things about the situation - like the whole reason for them not wanting strangers.
I have a lot of time on my hands and I understand where the OP is coming from so I've kept replying.0
