  • If I plan well, it just might work (everything from now until New Year I mean here LOL).

Thanks for the idea, I'll ask at the yard tonight :D

We are tending to eat the same thing over a 2 week cycle so I'm planning from that as all of our meals are cheap enough anyway now. I forgot sausages tho - I really fancied a sausage casserole tonight too!

Thanks Caz, no work through yet for this evening's shift. Hopefully something will come through.

It's a dark and dismal day today again here. Only a quick post as I've not been able to get on all day.

    Good Morning diary land!

Well I got a file in last night and I managed to get completed before midnight so that was great. That's my goal, however, some nights that won't happen as I might have meetings until 10pm then start the file but I'll play each night as it comes and it'll all be worth it in the end. I actually am enjoying it as it's right up my street (thanks to Caz!)

So now we see ourselves in the middle of the week and this means things are starting to unravel. I need to get the housework done tonight. That's a must and then I can feel back on track again. I'll do a pinaculty for tea, nice and easy and warming at this time of year (not to mention cheap!) then we'll head over to the yard once everything's done. I'm working on my day job for an hour tonight then DH and I will catch up - need to make sure I don't push him out with being busy.

Money wise, as I said, a very tight month so I'm going to keep a close eye on my accounts and cutting back by not going for a mid week top up in Ald1 tonight. In the summer I need fresh salad stuff but now, there's nothing we need so that's good. If I can hold out until Sunday, even better, that's the plan anyway.

Right, check accounts then get on with some work.

  • Really glad you're enjoying it - some of the stuff they get in is so interesting. The reason I make less money proofreading for them than I should is that I quite often get distracted by what I'm reading and have to go off and Google it to find out more!!
  • Good morning diary landers!

It's my Friday today, yipppee. A day off with the kids tomorrow so I can't wait. We shall spend all morning at the yard and do non horsey on the afternoon.

Tonight, I have a file in longer than any I have done so far so I'm looking forward to the challenge and as I don't have to be up at 6, I'm not worrying about time. I can do the day jobs stuff and then get typing. Fabulous.

So last night, in between everything, I made a quiche and it looks like a quiche! Note my surprise! It needs more flavour but is a fabulous base. It's huge too, next time I will do two smaller ones unless it's for a main tea or friends over. So that will go onto the weekly menu in some form, just changing up the filling.

I will make a soup tomorrow when I am at home and this weekend will put some meals together for the coming week. Such a satisfying feeling, is that sad?

Thankfully, I've not spent any money yesterday or today. I don't plan to tomorrow either but will need some bits towards cooking next week's meals.

Plans for the weekend over and above the usual are to sort out DD's wardrobe as she's stuffed everything back in after pulling it all out it seems and get the Christmas things in order which I've already bought.

hi DF, aren't the dark evenings depressing. in fact today its really gloomy here so even the daylight seems 'dark'. this is when I wish I kept my horses somewhere with an indoor school.

Well done on the proof reading - it must be exhausting but hopefully will bring that DF day closer :)

Quiche sounds yummy - in fact far too much talk about food - I am off to have lunch lol

  • Whenever I make quiche I always wonder why I don't make it more... but then don't make it for ages again! :D

Hope you have had a lovely horsey and non horsey day off!

    Good Morning diary land :D

How is everyone today? I am fine and dandy tho I have a sore throat threatening which I'm currently staving off with hot tea.

I was off on Friday with the kids and we had a lovely morning at the farm and then just chilled together on the afternoon, they were both tired and DD not 100% so we enjoyed relaxing (ish, for me) and then on the night picked ourselves up to go to the scary walk after I'd fed the horses. Enjoyed by all, even though Health and Safety has ruined the scary walk!

Saturday saw us up and at the farm. That's when I started with my sneezing and knew DD had kindly passed onto me what she was feeling on Friday. Once I was at the farm I was fine and we had such a lovely morning.

Sunday was spent doing much of the same and a bit of housework. I didn't get any work in this weekend which was just as well as I've been so tired, I had a few afternoon naps which helped.

So, lots of thoughts and learning from this weekend. I spent £15 on fast food for us all because I was tired and hungry and nothing in quick to hand that we all like. We had last of the quiche but the kids don't like quiche and I'd not made any bread. I need to plan ahead to include all weekend meals as I struggle to get out of the mindset of 'We've been working all week, let's eat out'. So I really need to plan ahead for that. I am PO as I scrimp and save on all sorts then blow £15 on fast food which actually wasn't that nice!

The Wednesday tidy up helped, the house wasn't in too much of a state come Friday. The kids are involved with housework and they do their best and it saves me. However I am still rubbish at doing the washing on time/in full. I caught up with ironing last night and we've all got clothes for this week so now I need to put the washing machine on when I get in and hang it out overnight to put in ironing pile on the morning.

The car/truck got a much needed wash on Friday too and is looking spiffing! I do love that car and need it working well for at least 5 years yet! Once I have paid my car loan off, the car (well Mitsubishi pick up) won't be worth much, if anything so I won't see that money again and if I want a newer car or wagon then I will have to find the money for it, which seen as we will be getting the farm, won't happen as all of my money will be going to that.

I've put myself down for a couple of evening shifts again this week, I'm going to stick to that until the xmas holidays and then I'll add a few days in. Once I know how I am fairing I will take stock for the New Year and see how many I can do going forward. It's going to be such a help.

    So, plan for today:
Get all day job tasks started and where possible, completed.
    Collect kids.
Hang washing out to dry on airer and fold what's out ready to iron.
Make tea and do extra veg to go with tomorrow's tea.
Get tea on for tomorrow so it's just ready to warm up.
Bath DS and get him ready for bed to save DH doing it.
Yard with DD and ride both, muck out both and blanket both up as they are now clipped.
Home, shower, was hair so as not to be mistaken for something to fry chips in and sit down to watch next installment of the Walking Dead.
Bed and sleep by 10:30 - DO NOT KEEP READING AFTER 10:30!! :)

Brain dump there but I feel stacks better!:rotfl::T
