I would love to try a bit of dressage with the big girl - I wonder how she'd do (and me!) she's 17 now tho so might not take to teaching old dog new tricks :)

Never say never :) There was a fantastic bit of video on Heather Moffett's YouTube a while back (I think she may have taken it off now) of her riding a horse belonging to someone who was being a guinea pig for her teacher trainees. He was a big, solid cob, 20 years old, and he'd been in a riding school all his life until a few months previously, never did anything more complicated than straight lines, circles, a bit of jumping and hacking out. Within 20 minutes he was producing a very respectable shoulder-in and leg yield and having the time of his life as he worked out that he *could* go sideways!

Morning diary land and happy new week :)

Only 2 days in the office this week and then a 3 days course. In next week then off for 2 weeks and a day!!!!! (Day being Bank Hol).

So this weekend went by far too quickly but we had fun. Friday saw us ge0caching again and loved it - free and fun, can't beat it. DH went out Friday night and I got to work on surveys - I managed to get £6 (threshold) so that will be paying out on their next run. Did some swags but I do struggle there. Will keep plodding away this week where I can.
Saturday was a morning at the farm, had a lovely ride and hacked out - spent some time with the horses and back just in time for lunch. DH took us all out for lunch so I didn't have to spend a penny.
Sunday was housework, farm, ride out again then ge0cache before kids flaked in bed after quick tea and I made a quick sunday lunch tea for DH and I.
Money wise I spent on groceries and fuel and that was it. I could quite easily have spent more but I kept checking myself and am really pleased with how it went.
I'm also really pleased as I've not spent any time thinking about the future when I am DF (those who've read before know that it used to take over my life and I forgot to enjoy the here and now) so that's really positive.
Today we're having the left over chicken for tea - maybe with pasta or something. I'll just throw it on cold at the end so I don't make anyone ill reheating it incorrectly. I'm struggling with what to make for tea in this heat wave we're having - I'm so used to putting a stew type meal in the SC but that's just too hot to have at the mo!

Money wise things are moving as expected so I'll update some figures in next post.

I now need to check if anything's come out of the accounts that are not listed on here.....

BHS Exam (from savings so ok)
Next £40 - need to clear this - still owing £379.14

I am quietly pleased with this as I'm not spending on anything I shouldn't be but I won't sing and dance about it as then I'll end up with a croker of a bill that I wasn't expecting.:o
I may use the left over loan money to clear Next as the interest rates on that are fairly high. I'll have a think.

Yay to under 38K and good news booking your BHS course / exam.

The lady who comes eventing with me has a small warmblood that is 19 and only started eventing this year! Her dressage has improved no end by just quiet schooling correctly.

I always say a prelim test is no different to a normal warm up schooling session anyway - get out and give it a go. They have walk trot tests now too. :D

I'm hoping the exam is going to being new opportunities too, one day.

The kids gave me some ideas for small gifts/stocking fillers they would enjoy for C*******s at the weekend so I've used a small bit of savings (which is what it's for) to buy some of them. They can go in the cupboard with the other things I've already bought.

I'm going to do DD a little hamper of craft related items as she will love that. Nice and cheap too.

    Good Morning :)

Well Monday went smoothly! I didn't get much done at work :o but enjoyed last night. We had a lovely couple of hours riding, jobs and catching up with everyone at the yard. However when I got home I sat down with DH who was watching 'his' TV and goodness me I was bored. I took the dog out and then showered etc and was still bored. I realised it is because I wasn't tired. Now the kids are off school I don't have to get up as early nor run around like a headless chicken so come the night I'm not as tired as normal.

Lunch today is a prawn salad mmmm and then BBQ for tea cooked by DH. I'm going to stay off the drink until the weekend, this heat's too tempting to just sit and have a drink in the warm sun, no good for my health tho.

The kids are enjoying spending time with their grandparents and I've been printing them colourings and wordsearches to do to help pass the time with less fighting! 3 days left this week, full week in next week then 2 weeks off. Can't wait to spend time with them.

Money wise, the accounts are still settling into place after pay day. The bills continue to come out until 1st which is the last 2 of the DD's then it's just groceries and fuel after that. Next month I should be well underway at bringing the balances down - predicting to be under 37k hopefully and then under the next k mark for a good few months after that.
