Right - CCV have now offered me a BT at 0% for 12 months. This is good however the fee is 5% which is a pain. In real terms this would have been apx 4 month's interest if I hadn't moved the card. I think they normally charge 3% but I took the offer as I'm not guarenteed to get another one for 12 months or at all. So that will be CCR closed out once the monies have gone through.

That leaves me with CCT which is still at 0% until December - initially I was going to transfer them both over to CCV however I'm not wanting to pay 5% transfer fee on the CCT balance as it's higher and I don't need to yet. The only niggle I have is I really wanted both cards closed out and only have 2 instead of 4. Once the CCR is closed I have a couple of options for the CCT.

    1. Try for a new 0% card altogether - not wanting to do.
    2. Reduce the CCV limit to just above new balance and try to increase other CC balance which has long 0% - risky as could reduce CCV and not be approved increase on other. Can't do other way round due to amount of credit available to me.
    3. Wait until December and see if CCV has 0% deal still and just accept what's offered.
    4. Come into some money and pay it off, never having to worry about it again. ;)

Spreadsheet updated to reflect the CCR going. Still on target. Also if I can make £10 a month extra on top of the payments I've allocated then that will help in the final months on that last leg which LAM's on now :) Going to update my plan of action which I created on here

  • No idea about what you should regarding CCs and balance transfers, it always makes my head a bit fuddled.
The extra £10 a month should be doable though, ebay, surveys etc.

    Breaking it down:

[STRIKE]July 2014 - open loan, pay off original CCV balance:T:T:T[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]August 2014 - move CCR to CCV if 0% offered[/STRIKE]
    August 2014 - close CCR
December 2014 - move CCT to CCV and close CCT
March 2015 - bonus due - make payment of c£750
April 2015 - company payrise, min 3% normally, payments up by £50 month
July 2015 CCV 0% (was CCR) runs out - ACTION NEEDED
September 2015 - CCF runs out so move CCF balance to CCV at 0% - All CC's in one place now
October 2015 - last payment to SLC
November 2015 - up CCV payment by SLC amount (£146)
March 2016 - bonus due - make payment of c£750
April 2016 - company payrise, min 3% normally, payments up by £50 month
March 2017 - bonus due - make payment of c£750
April 2017 - company payrise, min 3% normally, payments up by £50 month &
July 2017 - Final payment to CCV - LAST PAYMENT TO CC EVER
Loan not due to finish March 2018 so I can either save every month from April 2017 to have some savings OR save and pay the loan early. A decision I will make nearer the time :)

Point to note CCV 0% runs out July 2015 and CCF runs out Sept 2015. I'll need to do a money transfer for CCV back onto itself to get balance back on 0% however the risk is no offer available to put CCF over to it in Sept 2015. Could do both at the same time if enough credit limit spare.

Re the hamper idea - have you looked on thread here on the boards somewhere.

I have done mini hampers from their ideas last few years running - I use old shoe boxes (ask at shoe shop) and cover them in crepe paper and then put goodies in. Love the pound shop for bits and pieces.

And believe me I have been sooo impatient lol. Perhaps for me its been a little easier as my DS is grown up and working so I don't have the responsibility of children to provide for and only myself to spend on and I don't outgrow clothes or need school stuff etc. So you are doing really well. x

Just a quick update as I'm on a course and have been updating during coffee breaks/when trainer disappears! This one is actually quite informative thankfully as last time I was bored to tears!

Anyway - I've just realised that due to being on the course for 3 days I won't be using my diesel and therefore that should last me longer than normal and allow me to eek it out a bit.

Also the money's come through to clear the CCR with so I shall do that from secure connection at home :) meaning I will be able to close that account on Monday when I'm back in the office! Yay.

I complained to swagbucks last night for a survey bombing me out at the end and now they've manually added the credit so I'm not to shy of my first payout there too :) It'll go straight to paying down CCV which I need a nickname for.....

Tea tonight is anyone's guess.....need to pop to Ald1 too. Oops trainer's back :D

OK a late lunch here - my stomach was going crazy but is getting suitably filled now!!! Bonus is I don't need to bring food to this course too so groceries slightly eeked out :)

LAM - I have seen a few hamper ideas on here - they are fab and I shall be looking for them again in the next month of so. You can't beat pound shop toys for bulking them out. My kids love anything and aren't at all picky (yet!) so I shall be using your advice.

I'm hoping my kids clothes will fit them from last winter as I bought a size larger than needed (amusing sometimes!) so only need a winter coat for DS and new winter boots each hopefully. My Nan knits jumpers bless her so always gives them new ones and hats - too cute and keeps them really warm at the yard. Extra layer of protection too!

I am hoping not to buy any new winter clothes, maybe thicker leggings only so should be minimal. I still need work shoes those, had 2 pairs and 1's given up the ghost so on my last black pair. Hope to make it to winter!

I've just paid off CCR so that's closed out - I made the call :) so I am not one CC less than I was yesterday - feel like progress even if it's not!!!!
