Sun £9.50 Holidays Jan 2014 Code words

Hi, apologies if this has already been discussed - i haven't read all of the posts (there are so many!). This is only my second time booking a sun holiday. How on earth do people manage to get breaks during the school hols? No matter what location I picked, there were non available except for places that were over a 4 hour drive away which isn't practical when it's only offering a 3 day break.
Earlier in this thread there was a successful attempt to crack/guess the 10th and final password code required to book on-line. This when combined with the use of a Sun priority booking reference (which you should have received as a previous applicate), allowed previous applicants to book the evening before booking officially commenced.0 -

The regional newspaper promotion above starts tomorrow. It's only 50p per person more expensive than the Sun.
Does anybody have the codes/passwords ?.0 -

is there a way of looking at the parks on a map?0

I'm absolutely gutted.
I booked a holiday for the six of us for 4 nights. It said £15 per person per night, half board, entertainment card free, service charge free.
I paid and in the confirmation email it says a half board charge of £11.50 per person per day will be charged by the holiday park.
Absolutely gutted. There was no mention of the extra charge on the booking form.
The stay will cost £380 now!
Do distance selling regulations apply? Can I cancel or at least amend?0 -

I don't know why you would have thought food would be included for the low price of £15 per person
The website clearly states that there is a charge for half board - see the Catering tab:
https://www.ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk/
The booklet also mentions that a charge is payable for half board - see page 6.
The Sun's terms state that no amendments can be made. If you cancel you will loose the initial amount you paid.
Contact the park direct, and see if they will let you change from half board to self catering.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Yes but £15 per person for any holiday is ridiculously cheap. I don't think it's fair to ridicule my question.
I do not have a booklet and have never seen one. I used the online system.
I see your point about the Catered tab but there's also a big tab that says Free Food - easy mistake to make.
You may notice that I'm a newbie to MSE. I've never booked a deal like ths before.
I've learnt my lesson the hard way.
No need to rub it in.0 -
I am well aware that you are a newbie.
And if you read this whole thread, you will see that you are not the first newbie (and nor will you be the last) to come onto this forum to whinge that the £15 or £9.50 holiday has cost more than the £15 or £9.50 per person, because you have not done your research or read the T&C's BEFORE booking the holiday.
The information has been available online for some time before it became possible to book.
Half board is not the same as free food and drink, and you booked half board. The parks that offered free food and drink (which by the way are for only some of the £9.50 holiday dates, certainly not the peak dates you must have booked seeing as the cost of your holiday was £15 per person) did so with the condition that you paid for club passes, so it would still have cost you more than £15 per person.
Anyway, I also offered a constructive suggestion - phone the holiday park direct or their central booking office (the Sun will not help you) and see if they will change your booking to a self catering one.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
