Get a brush and sweep it back out quick!

    Morning all

chucking it down here too (of course.) One load of washing draped round upstairs.

Kitchen all done including wiping toaster, kettle etc. and I've just done all the door frames downstairs. Feel a bit dizzy now going round and round and up and down.

Damp wiped and vacuumed living room and hallway, then vacuumed kitchen floor.

    Bit bored now.

    Morning everyone.

Good start to the morning tried to print off the to do list & ended up printing all of your messages instead!!!

Need a bit of advice have spent the last hour with elbow grease, scouring pad and stardrops having a good go at the oven, but it is slow going & to get all the black stuff off the base will take me all day has anyone got any foolproof tips? Anything that will help soften or disolve it (i live in hope) otherwise i might just abandon it today get all my other jobs done & come back to it.

2nd week flying and i am really enjoying it & can see how I will be able to keep on top of things.

    thanks in advance of tips

    Jules

ARRGGHHH!!!!!!!!! I have water in the house!!!!!!!!

    HELP!!!!!

 Do the council not bring round sandbags when the water level gets high? They do for my DH's nan who lives on a flood plain (directly opposite a brook). Not that she could lift them, if it really started to come down she would have to call DH over.

Jules, Michelle posted some time ago about everytime you use it wipe the bottom over with vinegar. I did this for the first time and have found doing it each time i remove more and more of the black stuff. I had previously tried mr muscle oven cleaner and it hadnt shifted it. It takes repeated goes, but if you do it every time you use it it will become easier.

Where is it coming from??? You havent left the taps on have you???

If its coming from outside can you divert the flow away from the doors and if not shove a load of towels across the bottom of the door to try and stop more coming in.

Bad news apparently countryfile said something like there is 100mm of rain to drop over the UK this week.

We end up with the fire brigade pumping water into the drain usually.. it is the ancient drainage system that is not sufficient and has collapsed in places that just cannot drain the water fast enough .. there is a fountain in the middle of most of the roads from the man hole covers.. very nice feature.. but not practical..

I have water pouring through the chimney in the back room.. we knew we had water coming in somewhere... now I found out where.. sooty dirty water running through my fire and down my cream walls!!! Oh what fun!!

I'm not going to look at it.. I'm going to hide in the other room lol
