  • It really does help when they are onside debtfreeoneday. For ages my OH just left me to it, but now he has realised we're not going to be able to move or have the financial freedom we want if we don't knuckle down and get rid of it.

So I have a couple of unexpected "things" in the form of bills, road tax, weekend break to pay for this month :( I am sure I will manage, but it wasn't part of the plan!

The weekend break isn't until May, but I need to pay that this week, its £127 so not MASSIVE, but enough to knock me a bit with the other things too! The Road Tax I think will be around £100, only going to put on 6 months, and will get a refund on that when I get a new car, so thats sort of temporary! The bill isn't a massive one either, but is £51 that I need to pay tomorrow. Oh and I need to do a food shop today too!!

Anyway, these things are sent to try us! I'll just re-shuffle the budget sheet later on and see how worse off that makes me.

Will pop back on later to catch up with diaries,

    Hi Mrs S

How was the shopping trip? Did you over spend or was it a good one.? If we have a successful shopping trip my hubby must get annoyed as I will go on and on about how well we had done! :)

I am finding Jan to be a harder challenge than I thought with extra bits and bobs cropping up!

Hi OF! Shopping was successful, I went to Lidl for the first time and have to say I was completely impressed. Shop cost £45 and that was with everything appart from nappies and wipes so was quite happy with that, and I will be going back! We've not had anything to eat that we don't like yet out of the shop so fingers crossed its all good.

Must admit, I'm looking forward to payday too this month!!

Thanks Debtfreeoneday - there is definately always juggling, but at least these days its now controlled!!

Thanks DearLouise, and welcome to my diary! I find this a great place for motivation and support, and I'm determined to be debt free this time.

Had a relatively quiet weekend so there really wasn't much spending went on. Had to pop to the shops yesterday for some packed lunch/playtime snack stuff, but that was it!

Car needs petrol today and I have 2 ebay items to post, so that will be my lunch hour, if I can be bothered leaving work! If not I'll do it with the kids when I pick them up.

Should be a relatively cheap week, will do another food shop on Wednesday as we have enough to see us through til then. Its DS's birthday this week so having some relatives over on the weekend, so will need some nibbles etc for that. And the other expense is DD has a birthday party at the weekend too, and I will need to get a present, but that doesn't have to be expensive.

Shall pop back in later to update, have a good Monday folks!

  • Hi Diaryland

Just popped on to catch up with diaries before tea! Have caught up with some of you, so thats good!

I'm feeling slightly nervous that I am almost halfway thorugh my first 100 Challenge and I've not made much difference to the debt - eek! I know it was planned to be towards the end of it that most of the repayment would happen so I'm not tooooooo nervous!

Thinking about starting matched betting again now that I have a bit more time. I did this before but was at uni and didn't have the time to concentrate on it, so will look into it again. I have two bank accounts so I could potentially do it out of one to keep things separate.

Anyway, better go and get the tea on, my little people will be demanding food soon!

Hopefully talk to you all soon,

  • Oooooo I used to do matched betting at Uni too! Definitely need the time to focus on it. I may start this too... Hmmm. Would be a nice top-up between the free ebay listing weekends etc. :)

Hi Debtfreeone day - I'm doing fine thanks, hows things with you? Matched Betting is something I stumbled across on MSE.com, if you take a look through the other forum sections you will find it - I'm probably not the best person to try and explain it because I've not looked at it for a while!

Hi Dearlouise, yes its definately something that requires focus! I will try and find a night this week to take a look and see.

Not a lot to report on the money front, as we're almost at payday!! I have to say this January hasn't been that bad for me, which is unusual. I have three days til payday and I have £90 in the bank - thats a record for me, although I am suspicious as thats about £50 more than I thought I should have!!

Officially halfway through my 1 Debt vs 100 Days today so feeling nervous! I'm sure I'll get there, in fact I am determined to get there, I just need to get imaginative about how I do it!!

Will catch up with all your diaries later when I get home from work, just had a sneak on to update before it gets busy in the office.

Hope everyone has a MSE Day!
