We're going to Edinburgh for 4 nights in March, hopefully a Sun holiday in Somerset/Dorset for 4 nights in May (booking tomorrow), HESFES (home-ed festival in Suffolk) for 7 nights in July and hopefully Disney World in the autumn.

I'd like to fit in another a short city break if I can too but it depends what offers crop up and whether I have any spare cash when they do! :D

I love the Caribbean but since my son moved to Singapore a few years ago we always go to Asia so that i can stop off to see him. This year it is Vietnam in August. ( I have to say though, he is presently in Paris but hasn't "stopped off" to see me!)

My husband's family have a ranch in Andalucia so we may squeeze in time there too. We usually go at Easter or Whit but this year a daughter who has been away for 2 years is returning home then so that may well be a no-go.

Husband is a school teacher so flights are always expensive out of term times.
  • We're going to Andalucia for a week in July - i've booked a fabulous and slightly extravagant villa overlooking a beautiful lake. I'm going with my OH and my 3 adult children and their partners. My daughter is a teacher so it has to be in the school holidays and my son and his girlfriend are coming from France so it's going to be great to all be together for a week.
My mum died last summer and i'm using some of 'her' money to treat everyone - I know she would love to think that she had given us the chance to all be together :j

Anybody been to Agadir in Morocco? It sounds great but I've heard that it can be foggy in the mornings.

In exchange for a weeks' dog-sitting in Oxford :) we have been offered our friends' village house in Las Alpujarras, southern Spain, an area we lived in from 2004 until late 2011. We intend to go in September.

A win-win situation, methinks! (And very MSE :money:)

  • I'm off to fueteventura in July with my 14 year old son. My daughter can't come due to work commitments. We're off to Corralajo in an all inclusive hotel. As long as I have a few good books,my iPad mini and a sunbed i shall be happy!! I'm also looking forward to meeting lots of different people and spending time with my boy:D

I'm so envious of you folks who can plan more than a week in advance. Our holidays happen when the husband is home and its confirmed he has no work for a couple of weeks. We then literally book and fly within a day or so assuming the planets align and I happen to be not working at the same time.

That said, (fingers crossed) we will have to go over to the US at least once this year :).

Yes, we're planning a week split between Cordoba and Madrid. We've booked the hotel for Cordoba (the room has a balcony and day bed!) but just need to book the Madrid hotel and flights. Otherwise, we're good to go. Less than five months now and counting.
