To be fair I can see why it's an issue. Prices can vary so much in a store that quite a lot of customers want to check prices they have paid before they leave. It's not unreasonable to be able to do that and the way the OP is worded once the finish the transaction they aren't able to reprint (although I can't see that being possible so the person on till may not know how to)0 -

I don't see anywhere that the op says they were unable to get a receipt. The whole issue just seems to be you get one if you ask. Hardly the end of the world to do that though is it!0 -
But you did provide details of the petty complaint so it was always going to attract criticism for the nature of your complaint.Big_Bad_Dad wrote: »Had you read my post I was seeking replies regarding an address to which I could write. Nowhere did I invite comments as to people's opinions on my issue and I was not obliged to reveal details of the grievance either. Had you read the post thoroughly you'll also have seen that I described the account as the short version. There are in fact wider far-reaching implications and this is something only they can answer. If you are unable to help or wish not to, do not post. Please refrain from posting sarcastic comments.
The burden is now on you to ask for a receipt so you know this and still complain, why?
Next time, if you dont want opinion ask a direct question and leave out the details.0 -

And you got that at 3:07 PM, but you appear not to have noticed.

if this issue is beyond your belief, then maybe your expectations are questionable.0 -

Seeing I can walk into a shop, buy something then leave without managing to be so infuriated about having to do a simple task such as ask for a receipt if I require one that I then need to write about it on the internet there's not much to question really is there!0 -

I shouldn't bother continuing to argue. It will go nowhere. I've now located the address and have sent the full account of last night's experience (which does go into more detail but it is not relevant now).
Thanks for your help. Happy New Year.0
