katiechoc - for Sainsbury's 25% off TU clothing they tend to follow a pattern of having them on when there is a half term/bank holiday... so my guess would be around the w/c 17th Feb... (but I have no inside info on this, so please don't be mad if I'm wrong!)
This is a very good point - come to think of it, there is indeed a pattern thereFingers crossed!

Fruit (orange, satsuma, banana, grapes, apple, pear, nectarine, melon...), berries, crackers with cream cheese, oatcakes with peanut butter, breadsticks, raisins, rice cakes, anything from Organix (I think my LO's tried all their snacks, and she likes them all!), yoghurt (Rachel's Organic and Plum are both sugarfree), cheese (my LO loves spaghetti Cheestrings), homemade flapjacks, frozen mango as an icrecream substitute (blend until smooth and freeze in portion pots)....
How's he getting on with his helmet - how did your appointment go?0 -
T has 1/2 an apple as his snack. If we're out normally a cream cracker
Why is it when you think you're having a good day it all goes down hill? T has spent about 30mins crying (loudly, but no tears. Grrrrr) for no obvious reason, not hungry (bf or food), not tired (well not enough to go to sleep again despite my best efforts), not nappy, don't even think it's teeth. Went to play in a different room and it seemed to make it a bit better. Think he's just not stimulated enough by me at home (even though we'd done swimming this morning) and I'm just too tired to think up something new. I have no more energy, after 9 months, I'm done. He has about 50 mins naps in the day, in total and inevitably he's in the car or pushchair for atleast a third of that, going somewhere, or coming back. The rest of the time just needs constant attention, the lounge used to be fairly safe for him to mooch, but now chews the sofa arm, or in any room bites the gloss paint off the skirting boards, which I obviously have to stick with him all the time so he doesn't. He's currently in his cot, with a toy that has lasted him 10 mins, but even then I'm day right next to it and have to keep saving him when he falls back from standing up on the sides so he doesn't bang his head..... Now the cots done, he's screaming to get out again. At least he's not alone as I'm crying too now....
Sorry to moan
So sorry to hear you're feeling downI think we've all had days like that when everything just feels like really hard work. Please don't worry about not stimulating him enough though - at that age, everything around them is exciting and worthy of exploration, especially things they're not supposed to have, like electrical cables, mobile phones and remote controls (and, in your case, skirting boards). Being able to move around opens up a whole new world, which is far more interesting than any toy or parent-led game
Get some sleep if you can - go to bed when he does in the evening if that's what you need to do; it's amazing how much better everything seems when you're not knackered. You're doing a fab job and tomorrow will be better. Big hugs x0 -

Moan away. Really feel for you. I've had a carp day too. Tears constantly from an overtired baby whose waking too early still in morning and naps a total battle. From noon til 4.30 I worked hard to get him napping. Got an hour 12.30-13.30 and that was it till he went to bed at 7. So much for 4 month olds needing a nap after 2hrs. I did it all..swing, sling, pram, rocking, white noise, singing, shh pat b0ll0cks!! And his massive peepers just wouldn't close. Even when he napped 12.30-13.30 I swear one eye was open!!! Hugs x0 -
Hello,
Sorry been AWOL, I read everyday but don't really have a lot to contribute.
Nutella thanks for asking lo had only improved by 1mm, so going back in another 4 weeks. Had him weighed and he's only out on just over a pound in a month anyway so I knew he hadn't grown much recently. Bit of a disappointment though, won't get my hopes up next time.
Lo started saying mama yesterday, the most wonderful sound I have ever heard!
Lazy wife, sorry you've had a bad day today, hopefully you will feel better tomorrow. Get a good rest tonight and things will seem brighter tomorrow. I promise. Babies are hard work.
Thanks for the ideas on snacks, we've been and bought a load of fruit for lo to have a nibble on. He's still not cracked the supply cup which is annoying but I'm not pushing for it. He'll work it out on his ownNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Hugs to those with bad days
Little miss here has been a disturbed sleeper recently, and it is so tiring for everyone, plus she is tired and grumpy in the day and then wont nap.
More wonderful heavy rain tomorrow all day... and gale force winds... what a crazy winter it has been
Luckily OH is home at the moment so the little ones don't have to go out in it.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hallo ladies
I have read back and can remember a few bits:
Socks - we use sock-ons (still) as without them A will keep her socks on for a minute max;she thinks it is a great game to remove them!
Snacks - (A is 9 months) we do fruit (banana, pear, strawberry, grapes, apple, orange, satsuma, melon), raisins, organix snacks, puffits if we're out, home made biscuits.
Nappies - we tried most of them and I found Pampers Baby Dry the best for night times though we do get the occasional leak still (though I think this is down to the way A sleeps - on her tummy, bum in the air occasionally).
Lazywife - I know exactly what you mean!!! There are days when I sit there counting down the minutes until I can put A to bed because she is just so busy and cannot be left for a minute and it is exhausting! She has never been one to nap in the day (she'd have 20min whilst I held her) however, recently (as in the week before I left) I took her for a walk late morning in the buggy - and when it rained I pushed her up and down the hallway - and she slept for an hour each day. One day, she slept for 2hrs!!! So, there may be hope as if I remember right T is a week younger than A.
AFM, A was brilliant on our flights and on the long car journeys we've had since being here. She has also adapted very well to the heat and all the people who keep cooing over her. I am getting somewhat exasperated with my mom who says she'll watch her whilst I do xyz only to then leave A because the phone rang, the doorbell rang etc. Uh, nothing is baby-proofed here, she needs constant watching!
And we're still having quite rubbish nights here - this morning she got up at 5am which is far too early! Especially as she was up at 3 before that. At least she went down again then...
Have a nice day ladies x0 -
Oh yes, and on cleaning/housework etc - DH learnt to cook in the two weeks he was on paternity leave (with me giving verbal instructions) and he would come in and cook dinner after being out at work all day until A was at least 3 or 4 months old. She is 9 months old now and I still barely manage to get the house thoroughly cleaned. I clean the kitchen daily - usually during a snack time, clean the bathroom/toilet weekly with A "helping" and then I try to hoover in between
Cleaning is not an occupation I enjoy :P0 -
Early start for you Saffa! G slept through til 6.45 and babbled away to himself til I'd had my shower at 6.15. On Saturday I woke up to hear him singing the Bob the Builder theme tune to himself (no proper words as he's not really talking but there's no mistaking "Booob bob bob bob BOB BOB BOB BOB"
)
Hope everyone has better days today, Lazywife how are you this morning?
Cute moment of the week yesterday - G has a plastic teaset and pots and pans, he laid them all out on the pouffe and poured water from his sippy cup into them and drank from the cups! So cute! He thought he was utterly hilarious "tip tip....splutter..giggle...tip tip" Love himNewborn thread member
