Morning ladies, welcome to new the ladies and congratulations on your lo!
We're off to the head clinic today so will let you know how lo gets on. So far (6 weeks in) only one little boy has said to his mummy in asda "what does that little boy have on his head" and surprisingly I wasn't at all bothered by it! I honestly thought more people would look and question why a baby was wearing a helmet!
I'm full of a cold, I feel absolutely rotten, and having to set off to work now, not cool! Will check back in later and let you know how much his head has improved, Fingers crossed it's another 6mm!Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Fingers crossed MrsH - and hope you feel better soon x0

Fingers crossed mrsA and hope you feel better soon, colds are rotten.
We had a better night last night, 1am, 4am, 7:30am and she slept in the Moses basket all night. She even grizzled at me at 5am to be put back in there instead of on my chest! I'm going to go back to sleep until the 10am feed and the do some flyingDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

 I guess this is tread for me now...?
My little man was born 18th Jan
Struggling with the hormones right now, and have asked midwife to keep more of an eye on us - I got used to the round the clock reassurance from having to stay in hospital with him for 5 days, I think - but so hoping this hormonal phase passes soon!
I think every single one of us has been there bz. I was in hos for 10 days and even though I was ill I had very little in way of baby blues whilst I was there. Then suddenly I got home and to tell the utter truth just wanted my old familiar life back and I felt sad and lost on and off for about 6 weeks (apparently it shouldn't last that long but it did for me). It did pass and most days I'm totally happy but even now my lo is 4 months there are days I find the adjustment hard. People told me it would get better and I'd think 'what if it doesn't and I hate been a mum' but honestly it really really does.0 -
Just a quick "light at the end of the tunnel" post: A is 9 months old today, and she had TWO naps, each one an hour long, today!!! Both naps were in the buggy. It was raining so I popped her in the buggy and pushed her up and down the hall till she dropped off. For her first nap that took 9 minutes of pushing, rewarded with an hour long nap. For her second, 4 minutes pushing and another hour long reward... Just to say there is hope! Lol A would only nap in the day if I held her once she'd fed to sleep or I was driving. I heard about these magic sleeping babies but didn't believe it
Thanks for this!!! My lo had slipped into routine of sleeping in pram but now will only sleep on us after milk too. I've tried the pram this morning and he wouldn't have it!! So thank you...It's nice to know there's light as my lo gets furious without a nap but naps are such a battle!!having said that lo went down at 7.45 and slept straight through till 4.45 (9hrs)! Took ages to get him back down though as he was ravenous but drinking reaaaaally slowly as he was half asleep. Finally put him in cot at 6 and he was up at 6.45 but that's progress and more in line with his 'normal' routine (except he'd normally sleep til 7.30). He fought his morning nap again but I'd rather have that battle than night waking!

Congratulations bigZ! My big tip is to relax & rest and accept all the help you can!
Bangton glad your LO is better. My LO is still struggling at night. He was screaming at 3 am - I tried so hard to get him to sleep. Turns out he was bored as he shut up when I read him a story, put on his cot mobile and changed his nappy (!). I'm sure it can only get better from here...
Good luck Mrs H.0 -
Congratulations and welcome Bigzippy
Hope it went well today Mrs H
I've been feeling down all day today - found out over the weekend that the woman from HR who told me what job I have been allocated told me the wrong job. She is "apparently" going to ring me today both to apologise and tell me what job I have actually been allocated... not long left if she is going to. I'm rather !!!!ed off about it all as the whole process has been such a shambles and its rather taken some of the shine of my mat leave having to be bothered quite regularly with work.0 -
benice its so tough isn't it? I never thought of a story when lo wakes but I will try that. Not getting my hopes up that he'll be same tonight cos I'll only feel gutted if we have a bad night (like sat when he woke 4 times and took 2 hrs to settle on one of them). I did practice my baby massage on him just before his Bath though so maybe it helped, maybe it's coming to an end...Or maybe it was an utter fluke! Big hugs though..I honestly know the feeling. Fingers crossed for a good night! My oh always says tomorrow's another day and he could come out of this phase and it really gets me through!0

Welcome BigZ, hope they're taking good care of you and mini zee! x0

Hugs bigz, those first few weeks are tough and had me in tears of 'what have I done' on so many occasions! But now the smiles and chuckles get me through the toughest of screamy times.
To those of those not getting sleep I really hope the babies remember how good a full night's sleep is for you soon! I'm quite worried about this sleep regression, LO is 14 weeks now and has started dropping her lunchtime nap she had basically followed since birth. Cue angry/hysterical baby and mum who can't get anything done... Praying this doesn't start in the night too as I heard her wake up at 4am this morning, gave her 5 mins of grumbling before going to her then she's settled herself back to sleep. Not complaining but wondering what it is that keeps waking her up so early...
Saff hope the job stuff gets sorted soon, you shouldn't have to worry about their incompetence when you're on mat leave!0
