Welcome and congratulations again Sweeti :)
Re breastfeeding, that does get easier. I learnt to feed in a wrap/sling (by practicing in front of the mirror) and have to admit found that super easy as would just feed baby whilst going round the supermarket/ shopping centre and others just thought baby was asleep.

With regards the emcs, things will get easier, but seriously take it easy for the first 6 weeks especially with regards lifting/pushing/pulling as though you start feeling better, you have to remember that it is major surgery and you need to heal both inside as well as out.

I used to set myself little goals to achieve each day after OH had gone back to work. This time round, my goal in the first few days after his return was simple: keep all 3 of us alive and fed/dressed... I thought that a big enough challenge with my 14kg almost 3 year old who I couldn't lift following my section. And day by day, things got easier and before I knew it was back to pretty much doing most things. I'm now 7 weeks post though and OH is still wanting me not to hoover/mow the lawn or lift anything heavy. I agree with minimuffin's suggestion to get out for a walk at least.

minimuffin, the peer pressure from nursery can be a big contributing factor to getting little ones to do something! If nursery feel he is ready then he probably is as they see so many little ones and can also be objective which we as parents struggle to be. Glad that yesterday was successful whilst you were home :)

DS has outgrown his first size (0-1m) clothing. Bittersweet!

Second day of OH being back at work and not managed to get a moments piece with visitors still. Not sure when it'll calm down. When I think everyone's seen her the ask to visit again. It is really nice. She had a good 3hr and a 4hr sleep last night so mummy is in a good mood haha. Aim for today is to get a shower! She's just had the health visitor, all good. My mum and sis are visiting her later. I went out with her myself for the first time yesterday, fine on the way there but the way back she screamed the whole way for a feed. Tears running down her face it was horrible. My mum has suggested going for coffee today, it'll be the first day of BF in public if I do go. Just can't handle her crying for food if we're out a walk or in the car and I can't feed her. Hate seeing her upset.

I sorted out all her clothes again yesterday, she has sooo many!!! It's so nice people keep buying her clothes, the pile was getting out of hand. At least it's back into ages although the ironing is out the window.

That's great that lo had a longer sleep during the night! Its great when they start to sleep longer and you feel more human. If you aren't feeling up to visitors then don't be worried to put them off. I was glad when the first few weeks were over and we has finished with the visitors. I like having my own time with DD and to do the housework before ds gets home from nursery. Never worry about the ironing! Although I do prefer clothes to be ironed but I just tumble and fold the kids clothes mostly as I don't have time!

I spoke too soon lol, she slept all day yesterday and was up all night! My meter was changed to a smart meter and something has happened to the boiler during the change so have no heating or hot water. Waiting on the engineer coming. I have just ordered a Stokke baby carrier to try to free up a pair of hands when i'm doing things around the house. Think it might be safer than the current balancing act.

I iron once a fortnight - OH's work shirts in a big batch. Nothing else gets ironed!

hope that your heating gets sorted out soon sweeti. I love babywearing - currently using a K'tan with E and it is so simple to use, and he just pops off to sleep in it. With A I had a stretchy wrap when she was this size and wanted something quicker to put on this time hence the K'tan.

Things have taken a turn for the worst here. My baby contracted menengitis in the brain at 3weeks, she now has severe brain damage and not sure if she's going to make it. Can't believe such a healthy baby could become so ill so quickly it's all happened so fast. She became unwell at 3 weeks, we've made it to 4. I'm devastated but feel so lucky to have have those lovely 3 weeks and so glad she's still here, treasuring every moment and hope one day she'll be able to at least see the world again.
  • Oh my word sweetie I'm so shocked and sorry To hear that. Will keep you, Oh and your little girl in my thoughts xx
