    Congrats CD, lovely news!
We're mid way through moving, hoping it might happen in October but by Christmas anyway... And once we're moved we'll be planning baby number two. Our little boy is 19m now, we'd be trying already if it wasn't for the moving... I got so tired last time round I wouldn't cope with the stress if I had the tiredness and crazy hormones of pregnancy! But we don't want to wait too long as baby number one took some time to come along and I'm old enough for age to be a worry now too...

Hope everyone is well. We've had a good summer, our little one has so much energy, settled into the work/ childcare routine, starting to use a few words. We've not had a holiday but plan to soon. Hope all the new mums are settling into it x

Hallo all; this thread has gone ever so quiet.

fran-o, our daughter took us a while to have - so we started trying earlier this year, after A's 2nd birthday as I wanted about 3 years between them too not have the full cost of childcare for 2. This time round, we caught the first month we tried and are now half way through. So we'll have 34 months between them.

I love how strongly my daughter's own personality is coming through now. She is very strong-willed but I love it. She has refused to wear any other colour than black trousers to nursery as I have to wear black trousers to work and this way she is "just like mommy". Been potty training too which is going well. And the constant commentary as we're driving really makes me chuckle!

Hope that everyone else is well and enjoying their small people.
  • Thank you all. I really should get on here more often.

Our daughter is now 2 and such a difference in her reaction to bday pressies and cake this time round. Though she was more interested in the giant #2 and minions balloon set up in the lounge, lol.

Saf our reason for trying for #2 in terms of age gap was also re the full cost of childcare. All being well I'll go back to work after our daughters 3rd bday in the Nov next year, however if we can afford for me to be off until the Jan for her 15 hours free childcare to kick in we will as otherwise we'll have 2 mths paying for 2 lots of childcare.

Hope everyone is well. No luck for us selling our place yet but trying not to stress about it, but it's harder than I thought not stressing.

  • Hello Ladies, how is pregnancy going?

Sparkles are you all ready for baby? How long do you have left?

I have 4 weeks and I'm so ready however my partner is away with work next week so it's probably best that he waits until his due date haha

What's everyone's lo up to? We have hit the terrible 2''s. Some days it's a battle to get out the door and some days he's an absolute angel. We're hoping to find a nursery for the start of next year and the thought of someone comforting my lo is upsetting me, because it's not me? Is that silly?

MrsH, hope that you're well - any day now for your new arrival! A has been going to nursery since she was just over one (when I went back to work) and she absolutely LOVES it! I have spent a lot of time thinking how I can work things out to still keep her in nursery whilst I am off on mat leave next year; thankfully with her getting free hours from September, and having saved some of my childcare vouchers for the past few months I've just handed in notice to reduce her hours down to 1 and a half days as will be able to cover that cost with my vouchers so it won't actually cost me per se.

I'm gutted at having to cut her hours, but thankful I can keep her in for as much as a day and a half. She loves the time with her friends, and has learnt a lot of things there. They also do loads of messy play/crafty things which is really not one of my skills.

I have very recently left A with her my in-laws for a few hours, on three occasions. On each occasion they have commented on how well behaved she was, and how she just took it in her stride. I told her I had to go work and would come back a bit later. MIL said that A didn't seem to mind that I had left her though a couple of times told her that mommy had to go to work to get money so we can do fun things together. For me, knowing that she is secure and feels safe that I will come back makes me feel better about having to have left her.

    I've been Money Tipped!
i think this thread is fading away isn't it.
Saf , MrsH and all the others on no 2 just wanted to pop on to say good luck to you all.L.xxx
  • It's a shame this thread is less active but I am guilty for not coming on as much.

I'm due in 13 weeks  and feel this pregnancy is flying by a lot quicker than my 1st.

I've also had to reduce our daughters nursery days from 3 down to 1 when I start maternity leave. We did consider taking her out all together but thought that wasn't fair on her as she loves going to see her friends. She's always saying 'mummy work', 'S friends' when we get in the car to go to nursery.

She's recently just been to her 1st bday party and has another in a few weeks and I love it that other children wanted to invite her.

I'm struggling to get into the Christmas spirit though at the moment. I think being pregnant and hormones all different is contributing. I haven't spent Christmas with my family in 12 years and kinda tired of having to be in the UK over Christmas. I would love to go home (Australia) but with working in a school and only 2 weeks off it's not possible.

    Hope everyone is well.

  • Merry Christmas to all you ladies. Sorry to see that the thread has gone as quiet as it has but guess we all have our hands full now or newborns are 2 and above!!

Sparkles hope you and number 2 are doing well
Saffa and cd good luck on your arrivals

Afm baby number 2 arrived 6 weeks ago and has slotted straight into our family.

Christmas this year has been chaos but ds1 has absolutely loved it and it's been so exciting to see it through his eyes. I am looking forward to putting my feet up tomorrow and just enjoying watching him play with all the new toys.

How was Christmas for you all?

  • Hi all. I haven't posted in ages as trying to find time is so difficult. I have a 7 mo who won't sleep unless she is attached to me which makes life really difficult. I go back to work in 2 months so need to do something about this but can't do cry it out as her willpower is stronger than mine.
