Thank you for your lovely advice BeNice!!
Well, last night I made the decision to switch to formula. I can't tell you the amount of relief I felt, I feel like a MASSIVE weight has been lifted!

Glad to hear you are happy with your decision. Parenthood is a survival game sometimes and you've got to do what you can cope with. Hope motherhood gets better for you x

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well MrsH, it must be hard with a another little one to look after. In this heat, being pregnant must be especially hard. Hope LO is looking forward to new bubba x
  • Hello ladies,

It's gone very quiet on here.

I'm looking for some advice, so new baby is due in November and I want some things to keep looking occupied when I feed.

I'm looking for book recommendations, cheap little toys that I can whip out and whip away after being played with for a 2 and a half year old :)

I'll also be interested in ideas for this - as I also have a 2 and a half year old (girl) and a newborn who is now 12 weeks. Keeping her amused whilst I feed the little one has been the hardest thing, initially books (mainly the "little miss" collection) and cartoons did the trick but the novelty soon wore off.

I now express 3 or 4 times a day when she's not around (before she gets up, during her afternoon nap, after she's in bed and one other time if I can) and then bottle feed the expressed milk as it's much quicker and she was getting quite jealous of the time it was taking to breast feed.

I love the "1001 things to spot/ Big book of things to spot" books, there's different themes and they have so much to "find", and talk about :)

Congrats to all these second time mummies to be. Time flies when you've got a new demanding job..I've not been getting time to log on at all and suddenly lots of babies on the way. I feel very broody. It's amazing how you forget how hard newborns are but a) I can't afford childcare twice and b) I got through newborn stage without a toddler. .just. I think I'd need to wait till my boy is school age. I'm rubbish at juggling!

I can remember posting when my son was 10 months and he didn't sleep through. .He's now almost 23 months and not sleeping through! I don't think the tides will turn anytime soon!
Amazed to see Nutella hasn't been posting?

While I'm here has anyone bought a balance bike for a two year old? I've just bought one for my son's birthday but really not sure how he'll go on with it!

Our new baby "bought" his big sister a balance bike when he arrived as she had been saying she wanted one for ages. She was 2.5 at the time but she doesn't cope well with it yet, I think she's still a bit young, even now, 3 months on.

She also got a 3 wheeled scooter this week (reward chart present) which she seems to cope better with - check out http://www.thetoyshop.com/?gclid=COSNp9rztccCFcvpwgodzNUAVw where they are £12.50.

  • Pottete I think it's called. We're getting one too
  • Hello everyone (to those who remember me and those who have no idea who I am).

I cannot believe that I just managed to vanish from here and a day not posting turned into months and months and months.

Thought I'd post on this thread to say that I'm expecting baby #2 in March. So Scarlett will nearly be 2 years & 5 months old. Always wanted 2 children and wanted a 2 or 3 year gap so it has worked out how we wanted but do admit to now thinking how on earth we'll cope.

More so for the fact that our 2 bedroom flat that's been up for sale since April is getting no interest. Only had 2 viewings in that time and both didn't like how small the kitchen was (it is a pain and I'd extend it if I could, would of done it years ago if I had the funds).

Now debating if rooms will have to be swapped over so we get the tiny 2nd bedroom and our bedroom becomes Scarlett's & a nursery once baby is 6 months old anyway. It makes the most sense at the moment as take out all our furniture and it's a big room for 2 children.

I'm sure people manage with smaller places that what I have, but it does get to me and pregnancy hormones definitely do not help the situation, lol.
