Ashtray heart, I'm glad you can rest during the day - every bit helps. Sorry night feeds are still difficult. Is there a local breastfeeding support group you could go to? I've found ours really helpful and a good way of meeting other mums to share tips and encouragement. Things do get better, believe me. I hope they improve for you soon.Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0

Ashtray Heart - I had the same problem for a few weeks with DS. He suddenly got really frantic and gulped his feeds which gave him really bad wind poor thing. It was a few days before I twigged that the milk flow was the issue...
I got myself a hand-held breast pump and expressed off a couple of ounces before I'd offer him the breast. That way the pressure was reduced and he could feed more slowly and calmly, without getting a face-full every time.
It worked for us...
One caveat - try not to take off more than is necessary to stop the squirting/rushing flow (easier said than done I grant you!), as that will just perpetuate the problem of too much milk.
If it's any consolation, our issues settled down after a couple of weeks.
Hope you get some decent sleep soon!MFW 01/01/17 - £123,279.40

Hi all. How is everyone doing? Thanks for all the advice. We still have feeding/sleeping issues. My milk flow isn't quite as crazy and I now have a pump so going to try removing the first bit. Also now trying infancol to help with the wind. Making progress with moses basket sleeping as she sleeps in it during the day and sometimes at night. Mostly with the help of a white noise machine and me putting hand in basket so she knows I am nearby. At least there is some sleep although both me and DH are exhausted. He goes back to work on Monday so I am going to stay with my parents for a few days to get some support plus introduce LO to great grandma and aunts and uncles.
Really hoping it gets easier soon!0 -
Hope that everyone is well and babies are settling more easily for their mums. Well done on getting LO into the moses basket already. I have to admit a sling was my lifesaver.
A is doing well, I am really Really enjoying this stage. Had a friend of mine over on Friday with her 3yr old and 7wk old. A and the 3yr old played so nicely together although never having met before. It was awesome! I also got lots of baby cuddles and A got to hold baby too which she just loved.
And I have had a positive test.... Excited and terrified. Praying for a sticky little one x0 -

Congratulations Saffa!!!!
Welcome Ashtray, sounds like you're doing really well. As everyone has said, it does get easier little by little. I remember I was counting hours, then days, then weeks, then months ...until it would get better!0 -
Well done Ashtray, sounds like success.x
Saf, whoop! Exciting times, good luck, I'll be eager to hear your progress with MrsH too. We'll probably have no more, so I can live out my broodiness with you two!

I'll have a little catch up now because I have a busy week ahead, I become Mrs Haworth on Saturday
we also have our 20 week scan this week so very exciting week for us.
Lo is preferring his daddy all the time, I'll ask "do you want mummy to put your shoes on?" And I get told no. He wants daddy. He cries when daddy goes upstairs or goes to the gym. It's lovely that he wants to spend so much time with him but it's also very stressful when I'm the doer and daddy is the doer in 10 minutes.
How is everyone else doing?Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
