Evening ladies,
I'm feeling really brave and have decided to get lo first to sleep in his own bed all night and nap times and second to move him into the nursery at the weekend.
Any tips on moving into own room or even moving into own bed. He's been co sleeping with me for the last 6 months so it will be nice to have my partner back in bed with me. Any advice is welcomedNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Hi Mrs H. Our LO (11m) sleeps in his cot at night but tends to sleep on me/ in buggy by day so we made an effort over Christmas (while hubby was home) to get him napping in the cot more. Semi-success!
When we moved Baby to his own room (4m I think) I started by sleeping in the same room with him - nursery used to be guest room so there's a futon! I did that for a week or so to reassure both him and me! I guess the other thing is routine - to keep it as close to the existing routine (bath book milk or whatever you do) as possible.
I'm thinking ahead to baby's first birthday now and seemed to remember some people sharing baby friendly cake recipes on here a while back... I can't find them though! If anyone has any tried and tested baby friendly recipes for fairy cakes etc please would you share?fran-o0 -
Hallo ladies and Happy New Year - here's hoping for a good and healthy year for all of us
Glad to hear that both you and your little ones have now recovered dizzi
Glad too that it seems everyone had a nice Christmas. We had a lovely time though I was glad it was spread out as A wanted to play with every present she got as soon as she opened it, and wasn't interested in opening anything else until she'd had enough of playing with it... cue very impatient mommy! Lol though it was lovely for her aunties and uncles as they could see that she really liked her new things and appreciated them.
Now, I have a question, particularly for older littlies - does anyone have a Trunki? And if yes, what's your opinion? I'm toying with getting one to take as A's handluggage when we fly home because I like that I will be able to tow her on it rather than carry her when she's tired, it will keep her toys tidy throughout the holiday as will use it her toy storage essentially (as we'll be flying, cruising, visiting elderly relatives so moving about quite a bit and I need to take toys as cannot buy out there). I've got my pacapod backpack that I'll use for my hand luggage - spare clothes for us and snacks for the journey (door to door will be about 22hrs). Any opinions?0 -

The ones that were posted a little while back (sorry, can't remember by whom) are these.
We love these (I reduce the sugar a little bit, although it's a fairly small amount to begin with) as well as the Ella's Kitchen banana bread, which I think works even better as muffins/fairy cakes - just reduce the time in the oven from 40 mins to 15-ish. I go wild and add a third tablespoon of apple juice!
On a slightly different but related note, my LO loves the Deliciously Ella banana ice cream , which amazingly contains nothing but banana, but still manages to be very yummy0 -

I don't have one, but like you would love to hear other people's thoughts! My parents live abroad, so we fly at least three times a year - my LO has a little backpack that she loves, and which contains things that she only gets to see/play with when we travel to keep them special. Your thinking re. using the Trunki as toy storage whilst you're away makes a lot of sense - if it were only about not having to carry her through airports, then I'd say it would depend on how far you'd need to walk at said airports, whether you're taking a buggy with you (e.g. if you're flying from Heathrow, there's a lot of walking involved, but you can take the buggy to the gate) and whether there are hand luggage trolleys wherever you're transiting. My LO loved riding on the hand luggage trolley whilst in transit at Amsterdam airport last week, and there's no way she'd have preferred sitting on a suitcase!
The only time I've struggled a bit was when she was 12-18 months old and wasn't able to manage the walk from plane to passport control to security to luggage carousel at Heathrow; once she got a little bit older she was perfectly happy and able to walk, and I haven't had to carry her since then.
Sorry I'm not actually answering your question!.....0 -
Nutella, A walks everywhere now; though she is just 20months I haven't used a buggy since last September so wouldn't even consider taking it. We are flying from Heathrow, with a short layover and terminal change in Jo'burg but as she's used to carrying her own little bag for nursery the trunki also appealed as she could (under close supv) pull it herself as her usual bag is too small to be practical. It could also be a toy she can ride whilst we're waiting as she does love riding her horse/ trike/ neighbours scooter thing but we obviously cannot take them with us.
I'm leaning towards a yes even if just for one space to keep all her entertainment bits together....0 -

Hi Guys
After some recommendations. A is now fully in pants. I am after some nice looking joggers if that's possible. I'm not a huge fan of the standard supermarket ones, although we have a few for nursery. After something a little bit smarter, we have cleared out what next had but that was only 2 pairs.
Anyone have any places I can try?
