Yay - well done! :T Hope you find a nursery you're happy with - I know it'll take a little while for you to adjust, but I'm sure he'll love it there and pick up all sorts of weird and wonderful skills and expressions :) I'm constantly amazed by how much LO is learning - she absolutely loves her nursery now.
  • Aw well done on the job Gilly, will take a bit of getting used to, but you'll love your new found freedom!
    How's Christmas plans for everyone?
T knows something is going on, the decorations, seeing Santa, an advent calendar, all means that he wants to stay up for the fun each night, not sleeping until 9ish each night... 10 this evening and I'm bloody knackered, just no time to cut off and at this rate Santa won't be getting any wrapped presents to pass on!

  • Hi Ladies :)

Hope you are all well and ready for Christmas? We took A to the Panto tonight, he had such a good time and was dancing and clapping along.

All ready here, few little bits to wrap. For grandparents presents, I got A to paint and hand and footprint some brown parcel paper and will use some nice red and white ribbon on it, looking really good so far!!

Huge congrats on your job Gilly that's great news. I know how hard the nursery sitch can be. I spent weeks sobbing every night before I went back to work. I look back now though, and honestly wish I hadn't been so worried about it all. Aiden absolutely loves nursery and comes home every night with a tale to tell, and a ton of artwork for our fridge! And despite being so worried, you will enjoy the parts of the job such as having a cuppa to yourself and being able to have a lunch break without a toddler clung to you! Hope you find a nursery which ticks all the boxes for you.

I am so excited about Christmas!

  • Congrats on the job gilly, it's really hard letting go of lo a little bit, god help us when they go to school haha.

Cannot believe how fast this year has gone, I had a 10 month in January and now I have a nearly 2 year old, it feels like he turned 1 about 8 years ago he's changed so much.

I have done no wrapping can you believe? I wanted to leave it until nearly the time, and it is nearly time hehe :)

What are all your plans for Xmas day? :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
  • congratulations Gilly!

taking LO to Pizza Express for lunch, hoping he'll have a good time. They do a 3 course kids menu for £6.50 which sounds good. Hoping the high chair will be suitable.
  • Benice, hope you enjoy lunch. We have taken A to pizza express a few times, he doesn't have a high chair nowadays but when he used to they were always fine. Just the usual restaurant wooden type ones in our pizza express x

  • Our fourth (and final) visit to Santa today... and the most successful - no tears and A took her present from the big man himself, and said thank you - Result!! Lol this was the only one that we planned as family; the others happened at baby group/ extended family treats.

I've still some wrapping to do, but have some presents under the tree already. I'm so excited for Christmas this year; I think because A is that much older and has an awareness of just what is going on this year.

She'll be 20 months on Boxing day. We're spending Christmas and Boxing day at the inlaws (going over after 12 each day), then I'm doing our special Christmas meal for the three of us on the Sat and having my cousin over for Christmas celebrations on the Sunday... 4 days of Christmas! I think this will help prevent A getting completely overwhelmed too as she'll be getting quite a few things from OH's large family so this way we can space it out a bit.

I've bought her some new Christmas pjs to start a family tradition of a present on Christmas Eve... something she can use straight away ;)

Hope that everyone is well and has a safe and happy Christmas xx
  • Saffa the Christmas PJs sound like a lovely idea

LO managed well at Pizza express but the table was very high for him to eat off - he managed a bit of all three courses though even pasta bolognese.

    Only 3 sleeps to go!
