WOAD - My lo is turning 1 in just over 2 weeks and she's only been crawling for about 3.5 weeks or so. She is super quick and again interested in everything she shouldn't be, well I say shouldn't be, things I don't want her too but then I figure she doesn't know what they're so wants to check it out.
She goes for plug sockets so have put the covers in, likes the telephone cable in the wall so have put a storage box in it's way, loves the cord of the hoover and will pick it up and drop it whilst I'm hoovering and then very annoyingly presses the hoover on/off button loadssss of times as it's a pull behind you hoover. Also she can get onto her knees to press the button on the dvd player so suddenly the tv is on and then the dvd screen.
Best thing is she knows she's not allowed to do it as shakes her head at me before hand. That's from me saying 'no' and shaking my head, lol.
I don't mind in a weird about way as she's just checking things out that to her seem interesting and I figure she has to learn that sometimes I'll say 'no' to certain things I don't want her to do/have.
Are we allowed to share links on here? If so I'll share a fb group that I joined which is all about bargain finds. I've found it great so far and picked up some stuff for lo for Christmas already.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
hi hope you're all ok
I've been very busy with little one's birthday - 12 babies came to his party! I hired a number 1 cake tin and used the Nigella old fashioned chocolate cake recipe yum yum.
he's going to nursery next week cos I'm back at work on weds yikes! he's had his vaccinations today poor mite, I've never heard him cry like that sooo gutted. also he's spending his first night in his own room tonight because I wanted him settled in before I go back to work. The bedroom already looks empty.0 -
Just a quick one - re socket covers. They're actually not safe at all and can present more of a hazard than uncovered sockets which have built in safety measures. G learnt very quickly he could pull the covers off. I'll try and find the link about it, Turtlemoose posted it ages ago.

morning
LO went to bed at 8 and woke up crying at 9. OH watched telly with him until he fell asleep about 11 and put him to bed. He slept through until 7, bonus! Fingers crossed for tonight.
Katichoc I agree with you too. I bought some socket covers but then binned them as OH pointed out that they were unsafe and I looked at that website.0 -
Lucky I didn't spend loads of money on baby proof stuff then. I picked up a box with socket covers, drawer latches etc etc from kiddicare before they closed the store for like £1.
Oh well, never mind. Didn't cross my mind to look into it, just assumed as they were made it = being safer.
Hope everyone has had a nice day. LO was poorly for the 1st time yesterday, well I say that but mean in terms of not wanting to eat/ then being sick.
Thought it was odd when she refused breakfast after 2 mouthfuls but she was fine at music class and swimming. She ate only 1/2 her lunch so didn't offer any afters but then mid afternoon she had a yoghurt and fruit pot but within secs it was all back up.
Tea time she had 2 mouthfuls and that was it.
If you didn't know she hadn't eaten much/ was sick you'd have no idea anything was a miss with her. She was playing with her toys, giggling and crawling around as normal so found it all rather odd.
Today she's eaten better but been wary on what to give her just incase.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
We've had a tummy bug here and it's been very unpleasant
Little miss was sick over and over again all night until all she could do was dry heave
Hope everyone else is wellMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I do find that age where they're mobile and in to everything but don't understand the word no yet probably the most frustrating to be honest. We have some socket covers in sockets that are really exposed but 99% of ours are hidden behind furniture and so we don't bother - it's mainly just to remove the great big inviting hole factor rather than preventing stuff being poked in - I find if they can see the hole it attracts them if that makes sense?
Ours had a tummy bug that took weeks to clear in terms of dodgy nappies and the like - think they lived on bananas for about a week!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
I love the look of the banana and blueberry cake - will definitely make that! Thanks for posting the link.

Woad - my LO is the same. We've reached the stage of climbing the stairs now and although we have a stair gate he'll try and escape to the stairs any second it is open. His worst habit is climbing on the toilet at the moment!
As for cleaning...it gets done any spare moment I have. We get up early which means I can give lo his breakfast and still have time to hoover upstairs and clean bathroom every other day. I get home 20 minutes before lo and oh on work days so I can usually tidy any mess in that time. I often spend half an hour when he's in bed cleaning downstairs and oh usually helps with something like unloading dishwasher /wiping sides /tidying. We're actually doing OK round the house but I can't keep a perfect home. My garden is shocking - it's in dyer need of weeding but I never get round to it! We've had a lot of 'who does the most /has the hardest life ' in my home and finally a year on we are realising we are both tired and we both work hard so the house /baby needs to be a joint effort wherever possible. That hasn't come without a ton of arguments and resentment though!!
Can I ask what your Los do at nursery? I'm thinking babies around 1?
Hope everyone is well. I follow the thread all the time but getting less and less time to post !!0
