Ugh, another trip to buy shoes, another discovery she's gone up in sizes, so another pair of shoes (ones that light up!) and another pair of wellies. Had to choose between the Minnie Mouse and Princess Sophia ones so we have Princess Sophia.

And largely because I am a softie and she hasn't had a new toy for a while, also got a Lambie.

For myself, I got a new paper shredder...

dizzi - my eldest is also terrified of the hoover. She hides behind her rocking horse with her hands over her eyes until it stops. Thank goodness we have wooden floors downstairs so it doesn't have to come out all that often!

  • my LO is also scared of the hoover but I think that says more about how often I get round to actually using the thing!

he's nearly 11 months and not crawling yet but getting plenty frustrated that he can't. Then he chills out and watches cbeebies lol. I said to OH that I think he's really clever and got a good attention span 'cos he can play with a toy for ages and really explore it. OH says he's a bit slow(!)

He's started getting up about 3/4am so I feed him and he goes back to sleep. I knew it was too good when he slept through the night!

Have you moved to your new house yet?

No :(:(:( Chain got stuck when it took our sellers' seller over three months to find a property to buy. Things are now happening again, so we're keeping everything crossed that we can exchange by the end of September. Thanks for asking :)

    Evening ladies :)

Thanks for all your lovely comments about LO's much-improved sleep :) I can't begin to tell you how amazing it is to sleep all night again after over two years!

Saf, so glad you had a good night out - did your LO settle OK with your OH? Must have been nice to have a bit of time away from motherhood! :)

Crabapple, enjoy your new shredder! :rotfl:

BeNice, of course he's clever rather than slow ;)

Re. hoovers - we have a Henry, which LO was scared of, so I bought her a toy one. She's now completely fine with the normal-sized hoover, but is still terrified of the toy version! :o

Hope you're all well and haven't been too affected by crazy weather x

my lo loves the vac. It's really hard to hoover in my house as he likes to wrap himself in the hose.

We're nearly walking here so we're coping with tantrums alot as he pulls himself up on us and then wants to walk round holding our hand. He has both types of walker but neither of them are a substitute for mum and dad walking him round. It's tiring! I'm ready for him to go it alone even if it means carnage!

nursery going well. He. loves it. .. and so do I. We're in a good place at the moment. 2 days at work/nursery and the other days together so I get a break but plenty of time with him. I'm moving to 3 days at the end of the month which I think I'll be fine with but then it's full time by October which I'm going to hate!! I have to stay full time until I'm redundant or my pay out will be cut so hopefully redundancy will happen soon so I can work part time!

sleep is terrible here! Think it's the walking thing. . and he's learnt to say mama and dada so he's waking in the night shouting dada dada! He seems to prefer saying dada!

    hope your all well xx
  • just tried this oaty pancake recipe from babycentre for breakfast and it was pretty nice. It was a bit thick so I might use a bit more milk next time or a bigger mug. I left out the blueberries and didn't mash the banana too well. LO loved it - I also put peanut butter and nutella on some strips of pancake which went down well. Decide not to buy nutella for a while as I eat too much of it!

Bangton my LO doesn't even say mama. it's just dadadadada! I think we get tantrums because Lo is trying to crawl.

Saffa glad your night out went well. I have one coming up this Saturday but I'm not worried as OH is so good with LO. He manages to get him to sleep without breastfeeding!

Nutella that's so funny that LO is scared of the toy hoover and not the real one!

oo benice Thank you! I do love a good recipe! I'll be trying that one tomorrow.

We've basically been living off the BLW book which I'm in love with! Had tomato and spinach scones today with cottage cheese which were absolutely gorgeous. I have an obsession with finding good recipes for lo (and us) so if anyone has any that suit a 10 month old please share! !
  • I love simple recipes too and had a feeling you'd like it Bangton. Think I'll try making cheese and mushroom scones/ muffins soon. OH bought lurpack spreadable instead of butter so I don't want to make things with salty lurpak. Now LO has had nutella and peanut butter, so is ok with nuts, I think I can start making things from deliciously ella and the gingerbread mum site.

I'm feeling quite chuffed as I've just bought my second stage car seat at bargain price. It's the Britax dualfix in a cool zebra style - it's 10% off car seats, pushchairs and carriers at Boots. Instead of paying £358 at mothercare for it, I paid £306 and got £34 in advantage points plus 2.5% quidco :) I didn't even consider Boots for car seats either. I wanted to rear face for longer because I have had car accidents in the past and wanted to be safer.

I put A to bed/sleep before I went out on Saturday so all OH had to do was remain in the house whilst she slept lol... She made it easy for him by sleeping the entire time ;)

Need to try him putting her to bed one night but going to really have to work on him to get him to agree to that!!!!

Hello all... Haven't posted for a while but have been reading! Thanks all for your news and updates. Baby is now six months, we've started solids, got two toothy pegs and he's sitting fairly well. Not crawling but starting to pull himself around on his tummy.
Mixing pur!es (veg and fruits) with a bit of blw (so far carrot pepper and cucumber sticks and some mange tout!) with varying success. Have found the last few weeks tough... Baby's night sleeping is worse, food stuff is time consuming and just finding things hard going. My breast feeding buddy from nct group of friends has started swapping to the bottle so I went to a la leche league coffee morning today as i'd like to keep going as we are (mainly bf but one bottle a day in the evening) and need a little moral support. I've also found baby biting me during feeding so got some tips for that today... Not pleasant at all. I think I'll feel a bit brighter once baby is enjoying food a little more.
