I'm glad my little boy has hardly any hair so far, I've not been able to bring myself to cut my daughter's hair except a fringe so she can see (likes the look of hair clips but if you try putting one in she has a fit!), and I don't know that I'll do any better with him!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
Slimming World ~ trying to get back on the wagon...0 -
Morning all, I hope everyone is well. I haven't been online in a while we have had a v stressful couple of months. My MIL passed away after taking a rather steep decline, my FIL had a massive heart attack and is in hospital recovering. I have started a new job which is v busy and after a two month delay c is now in nursery! I am completely wiped tbh and c is happy enogh in nursery but not napping well there! He is also consistently taking 4/5 steps and is delighted with himself!!
Does anyone have any experience I babies not napping well in crèche? He gets maybe one 30 min nap between getting up at 6:30 till when he is collected at 4! He tends to nap on the way home whic means bedtime is a nightmare, as it's 9/10 before he will settle to sleep. I am not sure what we can do to him! Although I have asked his key worker to just focus on one nap late morning/ early afternoon as he just wasn't settling in the morning.0 -
Sorry I meant to add Saf I would invite her over one more time but that's about as much effort as I would make. Now I am back in work I am not inclined to bring c places where he gets unsettled or requires to much management! For example my brothers house is a child proof nightmare and when we visit I spend the whole time stopping c from hurting himself so i don't bother visiting with him. I call in myself if I an leave c with DH0

Saffa I would try arranging another time to meet. She'll make the effort if she wants to see you.
MrsH you must be getting into the swing of classes now! well done
lao cat sorry to hear about MIL and FIL. My LO finds it hard to nap in creche now - he's so excited and doesn't want to miss a thing. The last two times I took in his pushchair and he napped in there both times. The nursery he'd going to try various ways to help kids nap - pushchair, bouncer and cot. If you take something in from home like a bouncer or pram maybe that could help LO nap.
Not looking forward to trying to set boundaries and discipline - it sounds so hard! And draining just saying 'no' all day!0 -
A used to only feed to sleep, so in March I started putting her in her buggy for naps in preparation for nursery. She started nursery at the beginning of May and wanted her to nap in a bed; I told them she napped in a buggy (with a few mins of pushing the buggy) and so they used a buggy for her naps. They said they'd try her in a bed once she had settled in - they are still using a buggy for all her naps but on her last full day there got her to nap in a bed for an afternoon sleep. No idea how they achieved this!
I send a small snuggly thing with her that they give her to nap with; she doesn't use it at home but does now associate it with a nap.0 -

I've finally got to the point where I can get round to growing Erin's fringe we'd had to cut in out... I discovered the secret to getting her hair to stay back off her face (she's cursed with my really fine hair so slides just slide out, and she takes them out anyway) - those rubber band type hair bobbles you get stay in well, and if you do a little top ponytail to grab the fringe bit, then run it back into centre-parted bunches it all stays back off her face long enough for us to have a chance of her fringe growing out.
Robyn on the other hand has her dad's really thick hair, completely different hair types on the pair of them. I think she got the luckier end of the deal though - really thick, slightly wavy browny-auburn hair!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Hope A is going on ok sunshine, I just used calamine lotion on Noah last year but we were lucky, as he was only just 1 he didn't know how to itch. Noah has been left with lots of scars as he was covered, I was told by the health visitor to use bio oil on then to help them fade. Hopefully A isn't too bad but might be worth looking into if he does end up with lots of scaring from them.
Katiechoc - whereabouts have you moved too? I meet up with friends from Noah's special needs group regularly at kiddicare, I always think of you and fluff when I see the 'big, blue boob'!!:)DS1 10yrsDS2 7yrs :)DS3 born March 2012
