we're off to the park this afternoon, gonna keep LO in his pushchair so fingers crossed he won't kick off too much. My 2 friends are going with me so they can take turns holding/ pushing if needs be. They haven't seen him since he turned much happier at 7 months so it'll be pleasant surprise seeing him now! He's 9 months on Saturday and I'm definitely enjoying him more. Did I tell you guys that we're running race for life with our pushchair exercise group? I'm pretty excited now as I don't look as pathetic jogging now. I used to be absolutely shattered after an 1/8 th of a mile jogging but now I can do 1.5 miles jogging with a little walking every quarter mile. I'm gonna try and go jogging with pushchair 3/4 times per week.0

Thanks Nutella/Sunshine - the nursery told me they don't have a scheduled time and would ask me his usual nap time which made me wonder if he will drop off if, say, no one was napping when he was (there are 10 children and only 2 babies including my son atm). I don't have a problem with the floor per se just my lo's reaction to it! Thank you for the reassurance though as it is likely his routine will change from home anyway and hopefully he'll copy.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Anyone any plans for Father's Day? I booked us in for a Gentleman's Afternoon Tea and then decided I better mention this to him as it's his day to which he says he doesn't want to go as he's on a diet! It's his birthday next week too...who starts a diet the week before their bday?! So no idea what we'll be doing although he doesn't seem to care!0 -
Happy Father's Day to those people celebrating. It's my hubby's bday today too so double celebration, I have even made a cake (I never do baking!)
Today's plan is to go to the family special at my baby sensory class late morning then family are coming to us late lunchtime and we're doing hot dogs! I made hubby a photo book for fathers day but it's not as good as I hoped...
Hubby stayed up for footie last night, I lasted til half time and went to bed about midnight, good thing really as I'm up feeding again now. Have a nice day everyone xfran-o0 -
Morning ladies and Happy Father's day to your OHs.
Thanks for the feedback on A's eating; she has been better the past two days and OH has said she is eating a bit better though he is still convinced that she has "aggression issues" as "none of his siblings were like that". I have told him she is perfectly normal for a 13 month old who is learning about her world and her boundaries.
OH stayed up for the soccer last night but I went to bed before it started as have absolutely no interest in it. I hate how it gets shoved down your throat from every direction too! Oh well, only a few more weeks and it will be over :O
Today we are at some point going to visit fil in hospital - he had an elective hip replacement on Thursday. I've tried to get OH to find out what time his siblings are planning on going as they only allow 2 visitors per patient and I really don't want to have to be there for ages waiting to go in to see him whilst another sibling is visiting... keeping A quietly entertained will be "fun". Anyway... he doesn't seem bothered about it so if it comes to it will leave him to entertain A whilst waiting to see fil and will go out for a walk whilst I'm waiting. He's not my dad or grandad
fran-O Happy birthday to your OH and hope that you have a lovely day
Benice, well done for the jogging and good luck with your race for life!
Bangton, A's nursery has mats for the older kids and cots for the babies. I told them I've never gotten A down in a cot in the day but she will go in a buggy so they are using a buggy for her naps very successfully. They said they'd try her in a cot in a few weeks but will continue using the buggy if needs be. I just told them her tired cues and they seem to be managing very well.
Sorry your OH doesn't appreciate you trying to make the day special either! Men eh!!
MrsH, like Nutella said, we're a supportive bunch happy to offer a kick when its needed
Hi Lazywife, glad that its going well for you being back at work and you're finding it a good balanceNice to see you
Right ladies, breakfast time for A and I... not sure what time OH will surface today! Have a good day all x0 -
Thanks for the congrats re hubby's job. We're car hunting again (big sigh) today. We went looking yesterday but drove for an hour just to look at one car which obviously he didn't buy which was understandable given it's condition however I expected to go to other garages just to see what they had or phone other people as we had hubby's ipad with us. So kinda annoyed me that we wasted a whole day just to look at one car as last week got to me with taking him to work and picking him up given that I'm now back at work and also that LO is poorly.
Re nurseries, mine have cots and also the big style prams for outside sleeping. At 1st that put me off as have never used LO pram to get her to sleep let alone put her in it outside. They explained they find some babies sleep better in the fresh air and away from what is going on inside. They do have them right outside the door though and a tick sheet for checking them every 10 mins. I have no idea if LO has ever slept that way as have only picked her up once when she was asleep and she was in a cot.
Whilst on the subject of nurseries, do others mind if your LO has food on their clothes when you pick them up? I'm not talking massive amounts and it didn't concern me, it was just on her collar (dress) and a bit on her sleeve but the nursery manager didn't like it. She insisted she took LO from me and changed her, saying she couldn't go home dirty. (this was last Tuesday).
Well hubby liked his personal card the most this morning. LO did painting with her feet on Tuesday at nursery and then they drew a car on the front around her foot prints. He's looking forward to when she makes him stuff and has a go at making breakfast for him etc he said. He's not bothered about going anywhere as I did ask but he didn't want to do anything. I got him a lorry key ring now that he's a lorry driver and had it engraved with a message from LO, though he said he will never use it because he doesn't want it to get scratched...
Hope everyone has a good day.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

I'm very particular at home - I'll change her if she's got even the tiniest of stains on her clothes, especially if we're going out. But for the nursery, I've had to lower my standards. They change them if they've got a lot of food/paint/water/any other substance on their clothes, but not if there's only a tiny amount. In the beginning it bothered me that I'd have to take her home on the bus with stains on her clothes, but realistically they're never going to have the time to keep changing clothes all the time - plus she'd hate it if it interrupted her playing!0 -
Funny the mention re nursery clothes makes me think of my nieces. They live in Australia and got to daycare during the week that has sandpit, pets, paints, chickens - many ways to get filthy. My sister basically has two sets of clothes for them: daycare clothes that don't matter if they get ruined and clothes for best!fran-o0

I think more South American countries should host the World Cup (and ideally also the Olympics). I'm loving the time difference0 -
Just seen on the news that Mamas & Papas are struggling and are in talks about a rescue deal. Thought I'd mention it here in case anyone's thinking of buying gift cards or items that might need to be returned/exchanged - proceed with caution in case things go wrong...0

This is what we do. T wears just a bib when he eats at nursery (he has a cover all at home with sleeves as he's still a messy eater... blw) so inevitably there is a bit of food on his clothes somewhere and also he plays in the sandpit and with glitter etc I think of it as a further indicator of how much fun he's had that day!
He does have a full set of clothes as a change in his bag and I always try to send him in clean (!) but they don't seem too fussy.
I made it to half time last night, I don't mind the world cup football, seems more interesting than just a match normally. Obviously T doesnt' let us just sit and watch a match during the day. He's got a footie theme at nursery next week, he's got a little football type shire to wear... cute :-)
Thanks for the M&P advice Nutella.
Saf, I'm with you, if he wants you to just take A and see what happens, let him do the babysitting whilst she waits!
Lorry keyring sounds cute cd, hope he does start to use it so he's always got a little reminder of LO with him.
Happy Father's day daddies!0
