Love the photos Turtlemoose - thank you for sharing!

I used a manual breast pump, just the basic boots one as sent husband to buy it when I was desperate in the very early days when having trouble with our latch causing A to munch on my nipples - ouch!!! It worked fine for me as I didn't express regularly, the occasional expression so there was a small stash in the freezer just in case.

Glad that your first day back went well Oscar.

As for me, settling into a little routine now with being in work for my two and a half days. Did have a heartmelt moment this afternoon though... A went out into the garden as I'd left the door ajar, so I followed her out. She went over and picked a little daisy and came and gave it to me, then went and picked another... she picked me 10 little daisies!!! Such a heart melting moment (and we'll ignore the weeds in the lawn that let her do so! :o)

Aw that's really cute Saf. T saw daddy ready for work this morning, so started waving and leant in for a kiss to say goodbye... it threw him a little that he then got into the car with him as he drops him off at nursery! 2nd day back at work went better. Less crying tonight. I think he enjoys nursery so much that he's not so phased. His bum is quite sore though. Having nasty teething poos (had 6 yesterday), I'm trying to change him as quick as poss, nursery too, but they've asked for a cream. Never needed to before, just change as soon as he's done his little standing up grunt ;) and it clears up quick, but I guess they can't keep such a close check on him.
Well done on your return to work Oscar, I have to say I'm enjoying the extra energy I have in the evening... a day at work is like a little rest!
Lovely pics Turtle, happy birthday big boy!

Lovely photos, thanks for sharing :)

Baby sensory today was fun and Baby certainly enjoyed himself so I've signed up for a ten week term starting next week. We've had three late nights (around midnight) in a row and he's just dropped off now so I'm wondering if this is really it or just a pre-bedtime power nap! He's always been a night owl but often around 10.30-11pm over the last month. Three late late nights have been hard on my sanity!

We've just booked our holiday! Four nights in a self catering cottage on the Kent Coast. Not far for us as we're in South London suburbs but he'll only be five months so we're not up for going far and it's a part of the world we've north visited much. Baby's first paddle and beach experience, day trips to whitstable or Canterbury, and just nice to have a garden and BBQ (we live in a flat with shared 'garden'!) so fingers crossed the sun will shine.

Right going to attempt to put baby in cot....

Ps. I have an avent electric pump which I find easy to use and keep clean. I started pumping early days because it was too painful to put baby on boob when I was having problems. I now use it on odd occasions when baby's had a big sleep and I wake full of milk. I'm pleased we invested in electric as it's quick and easy.

    Evening ladies :)

Hope everyone is well - I have nothing interesting to say, but thought we'd all gone a bit quiet!...

Nice and sunny day here - took LO to a nearby forest, where she collected enough sticks and stones to build a small house. She's a much happier girl now - she's settled into her new room at the nursery and runs off and giggles when I come to pick her up, just like in the old days :D In other news, she's discovered Peppa Pig, has started taking her nappy off when she wants to use the potty (but will attempt to run around without said nappy for a bit before heading over to the potty corner) and has three new favourite phrases: 'waddadoin?' (what are you doing), 'suus me!' (excuse me) and 'it's stuck!'.

Hope everyone has a good night x

    :hello: Nutella!
I've just popped over and saw no developments, but then nice to see your post. Glad LO has settled well into her new room at nursery, T's settled well in his.
He has dinner at nursery about 4pm, but has been used to eating dinner about 6pm with DH and me, he's still eating with us when he gets in (6.30) and seems hungry. I've been giving him a bit of dinner with us then as well rather than just a light snack as he seems to need it, but now he's on sort of 4 meals a day?!?!!
Can't believe how much energy I have when I've been at work all day... T tires me out much more that work does, so I feel ready to do anything when I get home from work?!!
A nice 1st birthday party this morning for one of his little friends and DH off tomorrow, so a family day :)
    Night all.x

Hi Lawywife! :) Great that your little man is happy at the nursery. My LO also has her tea there at 4pm, so she only has yoghurt and fruit before she goes to bed and then OH and I have dinner later. She goes to bed early though - we head upstairs by 6.30 for her bath. I know what you mean re. going to work - a day with LO is a lot harder than a day at the office!

    Morning ladies,

It's been very quiet on here recently! Boo! Let's get the flow back, even if we feel we have nothing to say, let's say something.

Lo now doesn't have his helmet on, it got to the point where he would just slip it off over his head so we knew he'd had enough! Fine by me, I've missed kissing his head for 4 months!

He can now say a few words, cat, phone, dirty, good boy, peppa, bot bot (bottle), poo poo, there, down, up, done, all gone, block, duck, birdy, pip pip (car) (from his grandad) is that good for a 14month old?

His independant feeding has come on leaps and bounds now, he's rather eat something himself than have me spoon feed him, and now when I try to spoon feed him he grabs the spoon. I'm becoming redundant.

Lovely pictures turtle, nice to see you pop on every now and again.

Even the newbies have been quiet this time around.

Nice to see you Nutella and lazy!

Wonder what fun everyone else is up to? Come tell us! I'm nosy!

  • It is nice to read about other people's LOs, thanks for the updates.

LO is sitting up for longer periods and occasionally flopping down to the side at 8 months. No rolling but I think he just can't be bothered! He can go onto his front and roll back onto his back by himself. He loves watching TV - I recently took him to a services and he was watching the news on the tv screens lol. He's getting better at BLW despite no teeth, he can manage cheese and grab slippy small stuff better. I'm thinking of doing a video of him BLW, I'm so proud!

Nutella glad LO is feeling much happier.

Mrs H lovely news about LO's helmet. It must be so nice to hear him talk

lazy you make nursery and work sound great. I'm glad my LO is going to nursery so he doesn't get bored of me! I've got 4 months to go til then so I better decide which nursery he's going to first.

MrsH, your little man sounds lovely :) Must be nice to get rid of the helmet - did his head improve like you'd expected/hoped?

BeNice, won't be long until he starts crawling and then he'll be everywhere! Enjoy these last few weeks of him mostly staying in one place :)

LO is having a nap, and I've mowed the lawn, changed the bedsheets and got lunch ready for when she wakes up. Such a lovely day here - 20 degrees and sunshine! Took LO to a local community garden this morning - she loved it; there were lots of flowers to smell and little insects to discover. We'll probably be spending the afternoon in the park - the weather's far too nice to be stuck indoors.

Ooooops, I think she's waking up..... Hope everyone is having a good day x

Hi Nutella, his head shape is so much better and we're all really happy to not have the helmet on anymore.

Benice defo enjoy lo'a stillness, my lo is obsessed with the kitchen and opening things, life gets very active when lo's start to move. I miss putting lo in one place and knowing he'll still be there when I turn around haha

Weather is nothing special here, fine but not hot, we're off on a walk when oh gets home. I've just cleaned the bottom half of the kitchen (cupboards) with lo helping to Hoover the hallway haha
