Just a quick question (at 2am?!?!). Do you get a letter from docs for 12 month jabs? Haven't had anything and he's 55 weeks now. Should I ring and chase it, or is it only approximately anyway? Liking online it says 12-13 months and a lot of people see to delay it with coughs and colds etc

I don't think it's a problem if they have the jabs a bit later lazywife, but I'm pretty sure I had a letter. I'd ring your GP and ask them about it.
I'm all excited about the saddest of things (although that both of the children are over the chicken pox and can leave the house and mix with other kids is also pretty high on the scale!) because I've got a cot mattress on order for baby so he can move out of his moses basket, and more excitingly, a 'big girl bed' for my toddler. It's so cute!

Now got to order a mattress and duvet, and sheets, and duvet covers... Just looking at the best prices so hopefully it will all be delivered to go up next monday.
Took the kids to go feed the ducks yesterday with friends. My little girl was so funny, wandering along going 'hello ducks, lunchtime, I got food for you!'

Lazywife, I don't think we had a letter - I just phoned the surgery to book an appointment. Probably varies depending on where you live though - if I were you I'd give them a call just in case.0

We had the 16wk jabs today - I asked about the next set of jabs and our GP does not send a reminder, it's up to parents to remember and book in.
Had a clingy baby post-jabs though we had a few smiles this evening. We're going to a baby sensory group tomorrow - tomorrow's session is a freebie taster session but I intend to sign up for the next ten weeks unless it's awful!fran-o0 -
Hello ladies,
Breastfeeding group went really well and even managed to get the confidence to breastfeed whilst I was there. They were really helpful and supportive and even had a list of breastfeeding friendly places in our local area. I will definitely be returning next week. There is also one on at the local Surestart centre on a Thursday so I am thinking about going to both of them. It's a good excuse to get out of the house for a couple of hours. Tomorrow I am going shopping and for coffee with my mum so will be having a first proper go at breastfeeding in public with the support of my mum (she breastfed me anywhere and everywhere). Quite looking forward to it.
Today we are having a chill out and lazy day. I am trying to get some washing done as I am quickly running out of baby grows and vests. Part of me is looking forward to her being able to fit into 0-3 months clothing as we had a ton brought for us but then part of me grieves for the fact that she is growing already. Her umbilical cord fell off this morning and it felt like she was one step further away from being a newborn.
BeNiceToMyself - Thank you for sharing the link I think I will definitely be able to make use of that. I am thinking of get a hand express pump for when we can start expressing. It will help me feel much more relaxed about leaving baby with husband or parents if I know she can still feed when she needs to xx0 -
Vickyvics I never used a hand pump, I've heard they can be hard to use. Some breastfeeding groups and surestart centres will let you borrow pumps for free. I bought a medela swing for about £86 from Amazon which is a pretty good personal pump.
I always feel sad when LO grows out of clothes even though he's small so I've gotten a lot more mileage out his baby clothes than most people.
I've just given LO a bath and I love how soft his hair is now, aaaw. We're using dentinox even though he's not had cradle cap for months. I'm not sure whether to use regular shampoo now or keep using dentinox.
fran-o - I hope bubs likes the sensory session.
Crabapple I'd be excited about picking the bedding. Kids stuff is so cute but it's like necessary shopping without the guilt lol.0 -

Vicky my vote for breast pump would be the Ameda lactaline. It's a double pump which costs about the same as the medela swing and it's designed as a closed system so that no parts which could touch the milk can get moist from use (and therefore mouldy). I started off with the medela swing and it is also a nice pump to use but the lactaline trumps it for me because you get more milk and you can run it off batteries too (I have pumped during long car journeys!).
Afm, 1st day back at work and both LO and I lived to tell the tale! Very odd being away from her so long but it will get easier I am sure.0
