CD glad you've found somewhere you like for Scarlett. It's a tough decision without being let down on the way! Im having the same dilemma re nursery vs childminders (really a small nursery as three childminders in one house). Can decide between well organised but slightly uninspiring nursery or chaotic but fun childminders who have a nice garden (rare for London). I don't know how we'll ever decide but want to by the end of the weekend!

Hope everyone is having a fab sunny bank hol weekend :)

My daughter has chicken pox :(

I'm now worrying about the baby getting it; having a whole week of no baby groups as I can't take her to groups until the spots scab over, and that we are meant to be going away with my family next weekend and she won't be able to do a lot of the activities if she can't go near other children.

More joys of parenthood! At least she doesn't seem too poorly in herself at the moment.

Katie I hope George had a lovely birthday yesterday

Nutella I see you have a second birthday coming up, are you planning a big party?

I think I'd love to plan a party at my house for my LO's first birthday in September. He has a few little friends already. They're all within about 3/4 weeks of each other so I think there'll be a lot of first birthday celebrations then :)

We're not - but this is the last time we'll be able to get away with not having one! :o Hopefully by next year we'll have moved and there'll be more space for little people to run around. She doesn't understand the concept of birthdays yet, so we're just going to have a nice family day. OH is off on Sunday, and his teenage son will be coming over - LO adores him and asks about him nearly every day :) We've got her a few presents, and are planning a picnic lunch in the park if the weather's nice (combining LO's two favourite things - food and the park :rotfl:), if not we'll make her favourite food and eat together at home :)

I'm working on my son's first birthday and since they are letting me do a gradual return on full pay it seems wrong to ask for another day off!!

So no birthday party here. I feel a bit bad about it but he has no idea .. Any celebrations would be more for us anyway. So we'll have to do a 'katie hopkins' and celebrate at a more convenient time! My friend is having a weekend away for her daughter's first birthday and I think we'll do something like that albeit the weekend after his birthday.

Happy birthday to those little ones who have had/are having a birthday soon x

Hope everyone had a nice bank holiday weekend. I am shattered today and have no plans to actually get properly dressed, comfy trousers and baggy t-shirt day today.

We spent Sunday and Monday doing jobs around the flat as hubby was at work as normal on Saturday. Sunday he removed and fitted 2 doors whilst I was in the garden tidying it all up. Monday was spent with 4 trips to the tip to get rid of everything, my arms and shoulders are killing me today from carrying a massive garden waste bag sooooo many times.

Today consists of me dusting and hoovering the lounge constantly to make sure all the evidence of sanding doors etc is gone. Plus re organising the lounge as we took off the door to our kitchen and rest of the flat (bedrooms and bathroom) when we moved in but of course now we have Scarlett they've gone back on.

I'm now also working on Scarlett's 1st bday as it's a Monday. I was finding positives to when work told me I was working Wed - Fri and that was one of them, though in the long run working Mon - Wed is better.

Be just the 3 of us I think in terms of celebrating but again more for us than her cos of course she has no idea. We're doing her last photo shoot of her how time flies package the day before her bday anyway and we've also booked a smash the cake shoot to do after that one on the same day. So kinda like we're celebrating the day before.

I have ordered a bday cake for her but again that's just because I feel bad at the idea of her not having one rather than that she needs one.

I felt a bit pressured to have a party for her only because I went to two 1st bday parties, one in December and one in January and they had bouncy castles and all sorts. However they did have family and friends with older children etc and we don't. Perhaps if I had all my family here I might of had a party.

Being honest I'm more looking forward to the parties when she understands and has close friends she wants to invite so might make the most of her 1st bday being relatively cheap compared to parties with her friends down the line, lol.

At first I read this as you'd removed your bathroom door and I was wondering why anyone would do that - then I realised that that wasn't what you'd said :rotfl:
