Ok so that was a big fat lie - I was up to 0030 last night and this blog thing is driving me nuts. I am making headway with it though. Pictures and stuff will change as I move around my first country and actually make some headway with the travel part - seems like I have been taking about this now for like FOREVER...lol!
In the library again..... with tea this time. Snuck in by Mumsy with an apple turnover. The best parts of being at home.
Meet with Nationwide today for a CC with them - seems like it will be a doodle and with me within a week, Dr apt in a little bit as well for some meds that are prescription only. Didn't know that prescriptions are FREE in Northern Ireland! Whoop.
Sent off my drivers license as I need to replace it with a NI one. That will take 10-15 days which means I might be away by the time it comes back. I shall leave instructions for Mumsy to send it away again with ID etc to get an International Drivers Permit which she will send on to my Aunt in Oz as I won't need it before then.
I will be taking a few pictures with my brother this week with the blog in mind but I might be placing a picture on my FB page so those of you who know what it is have a looks and I will add you all - It's entirely blank at the moment but if you want to add it please do..
Okay few more bits to hit before trudging up to the Dr - very bright and sunny over here but COLD!
Over and out!

Good day, good evening and Happy Friday to one and all.
Thank goodness it's a Friday night ( albeit this is coming from someone who hasn't got a job ) and I can have a very deep bath.
I have spent Monday - Friday in Belfast our amazing Capitol City with a friend who visited from London. Picking up my laptop and blogging would have been deemed rude so I had to put it down. I do however have an interweb / blogging addiction considering how much I thought about it so perhaps it's best I have chose a route that will allow me to do this all day all night if I choose.
So first things first.
Deliveries;-- Driving License - Returned from the DVLA in NI as I had forgotten to fill in the "can you see" section. It was sent off today and once returned Mumsy will post off for my "International Drivers License".
- EasyLock - The lovely man Bob Fitzjohn who created this lock for his granddaughters when they went travelling sent me a proto-type as sales would not be up and running before I went. It's a pre-production model that I am going to try on my Mothers door's at home and post a blog soon. More pleased that he sent a pink one!
- MacBook Keyboard Cover - This was ordered along with a screen cover. Should have all been done together but for whatever reason I forgot. Must protect the investment's right? And I think I would cry if anything happened to that laptop.
Money;-- Brother gave me an unexpected £250 to cover the rest of the money that's owed from my wee car that he requisitioned a while ago. It was a welcome shock. It covers my travel insurance.
- Travel Funds now lie at £9500 or just over (depleted due to purchases made at last minute - laptop case, medications, few items of clothing etc). I have yet to be paid my last instalment from work which will come in next Friday so I can post a full and final for you all. I am hoping it will be a nice £10k along with the supposed tax return (awaiting P45 as well).
- With my Australian Bank set up all manner of money transfer people want my business. They are either pushy or want me to send numerous documents for identification purposes but also charge. The Nationwide do it for £20. I am happy with that as it's one large transaction.
- Nationwide refused my CC application. This was due to me being super honest about my non-existant job (well I can't lie can I) and so I went to my own NI bank (Dankse) and upped the limit to £1500 on my current CC. I also advised them that I am going travelling.
Confessions;-- I haven't bought my travel insurance yet.
- I am going to buy a power bank (portable charger).
- I used the £50 my friend gave me to buy the most amazing perfum as my luxury item - although it's in 4 vials of 10ml for ease of transport and no glass bottles.
- I haven't tried all my stuff in my bag yet to see how heavy it is etc.
- I haven't read up nearly as much as I should have about the countries I am visiting. EEEK!
Okay so that's me caught up for now.
I have a lot of blog writing to reconfigure, a new format for the blog to choose ( light and small font is NOT good) and more articles to get together.
I probably should have started this sooner.
That's me for now. Only got home at 1800 so am off for a bath. Back before bed.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Hi Kat
Really pleased to see a post from you. I was getting a bit worried that you may have just decided to run off on your adventures without saying goodbye
I look forward to checking out your blog with the new font. It was a little hard to read for me as I'm basically as blind as a bat but the content was well written and entertaining as always :T
Not long to go now, I bet you can't wait to get started.
Chez xThat money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"0 -
CEW - yes the layout was great although it took for ages to get pictures to fit. Then when I really had a good look the font was horrible. SO - back to the library next week in order to discover a new layout.
I would NEVER disappear on you all!..;-)“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
