Hellooo.
I need to get back on here to stop myself from sliding into debt.I've had no choice but to use my credit card a bit this last few weeks, and as money is going to be very tight now I'm back to life as a single mum, I MUST stay on top of it.
I think considering what you've been through in the past few weeks, using the credit card is the least of your worries. It will all come together once you've been in the new place a few months.

Thanks Pooky, but once I have actual income coming in instead of a big scary hole where it should be, butt-kickings will be appreciated.
Watching things like that documentary do bring it home just how lucky we are in so many ways. It doesn't mean we shouldn't stress or struggle, but it does help to keep things in perspective.
I think you do that, Buffy. You fret about things, and fret about frettingbut you keep going, and you're so supportive of others who are having a bad time. I admire and love that about you.

hello diary readers, hard week at work this week! am limiting myself on MSE but cheekily wanted your opinion on something.
my debt is currently 4192.
It is on 0% till..........wait for it.........Feb 2016!!!
Now I also worked out that my Dave Ramsey emergency fund of 3 months equals 3600.
plus a little fund of a 1000.
If I pay 250 off the card each month and save 400 each month the card will be paid off in time(ie just before feb 2016) and would have only 1192 on it and in one year I would have my emergency fund. (GOD it is so depressing that it will take a year! but better than nothing)
SO what would you do?
a. pay off CC quickly
b. save and make minimum payments.
I don't like having the debt. Trying to do both is leaving me with very little cash. And very little cash is depressing........but?
When I was in big debt I paid it off in fits and spurts. and when I focussed and made big payments It was annoying being skint but I did for some reason.
Advice please!Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
I think it really depends on what makes you happy Hun. Seems a daft idea to not be earning interest on savings whilst not paying interest on debts, however personally I'd be worried that I'd dip into savings and then not have enough at the end to clear the cards. Only you know how it would likely pan out for you.
That's really no help at all is it?! Sorry XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

I'm with lucky too. I say clear the debt first then start saving. I've seen the Dave Ramsey Baby Steps thing and I think the first thing on the list is to put £500 away, then clear the debt, then build the emergency fund. But ultimately the choice is yours.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
