You've said it now Buffy - and we are not strangers ;)! Now you need a plan to change it, one step at a time. But first, you need to change your mindset - because you are worth it :A

You know we're not strangers Buffy - we all go through it with you and are here for virtual support. You need to hatch one of your plans, it's been a while since the last one!

I am lucky to have such friends as you SA and all the lovely people who post here.

After my massive strop at the world I cleared up the rest of the mess in my room, the gps looks good in their new hutch - which ok looks downright weird in my room but is safer with the dogs and easier to clean out for my back. I have SPACE and can walk and dance in my bedroom (did the latter in front of the dogs - most confused! )

When I went upstairs my wonderful little kindle machine played this

so that got me going! I have a fair whack of decorating to do but in hindsight going through everything in there was a tall order even if I had been well. There are now 6 bags of rubbish and 5 for charity. I have about 4 boxes to do and am aiming to do one per weekend and paint one piece of furniture each weekend.

thanks so much for listening to me rant! I shall have to make a plan for September ............;)

  • Time to consult the oracle that is my Venn diagram. It has three circles that intersect. One is skills, one is interests and one is personality and the overlap is ideal job. What you do is be as objective as possible, list under the 3 headings, look for the commonality and then match it to likely job options. It sounds easy but there was about a month's work in it with me asking others to help my objectivity on an ad hoc basis.

Btw, did I mention that it's on my dream board? Some people use these for "cosmic ordering". I'm semi skeptical. I don't want to rule out that possibility but see that having a pictorial representation of what I want in my life does help me to be aware of when opportunities, even obscure ones, present themselves. You're very set on what you don't want, have you a clear thought about what you do want? It's not easy but get anything you'd like up there, from the minuscule (ad for a cuppa) to the ridiculous (London mews house). You can refine over time.

In the meantime, no more talk about all of us being strangers. Strange possibly but not strangers. Also, stop putting yourself down. If you do that often enough, others will start to believe it.

Sending HUGS. Boyfriends are over-rated, even gorgeous ones - would you really want to live with someone who spends all his time admiring himself in the mirror.

At one point after my divorce I had my ex-husband, an ex-lover and an ex-toyboy all trying to regain my affection. It was exhausting and no fun whatsoever - just had to keep telling them I had no interest whatsoever in anything they had to offer. The toyboy got positively stalkerish. I lived on the edge of a car park. I was tending my (miniscule back yard) garden one day and when I turned round he was peering between the slats of the garden gate - I had to threaten him with the police if he didn't stop phoning me.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • Right, I've read and caught up.

Oh eh, so sorry you've been ill. Has your cough gone? that can be the last thing to go. Bloody annoying they are too.

You've done ace-ly over the last couple of weeks re: your decluttering and your CV. Sometimes when our heads are chocka its hard to see the wood for the trees. But although you have had a miserable time of it, with some big thoughts going off, you've still managed to get some practical bits done too. Well done missis!

My mum and dad are going away tomorrow on holiday. My dad has booked it online and.....oh, you know when you just know? I casually asked him to go through the documents he'd printed off and there was a chunk missing. Sat with him whilst he went through his emails and found them.

Felt bad as he clearly felt a bit daft. He knew I wanted to check and was a bit off with me. But at least they won't get sent away at the airport.

Siiiiiiiigh. I understand how you feel Buffster. It's difficult seeing your folks get older xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
