Anyone one else like me 8+5 and no scan date yet? Midwife said it would be posted or she would bring with her next sat at my booking appt.
I want to book a week away but I'll be 11wks the day we go away and 12+1 when we get back - don't want to miss my scan!
Thinking if phoning midwife Monday to see if she's got date yet but it's certainly not a medical issue and know they are stretched. Really want to get something booked tho as hubby and I both worn out and need a break!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0 -
So sorry mdhughes. Take care of yourself. Xx0

Deep breaths daisy- my nausea has been gone for a couple of days which was contributing nicely to my paranoia. So far i've noticed symptoms coming and going. The day my boobs weren't sore I was in tears (which I know seems ridiculous), they were on fire the next day and felt like they were being punched!
Scan this morning showed a nice wriggly baby waving its arms and legs with a heartbeat of 162bpm. I can't believe how much its changed in the three weeks since my first scan. That one just looked like blob, this one we saw it's profile. Feel like I may be able to sleep now! Have had dates brought forward, am 10+4 and edd is now 16/09. Seems to be sinking in that it's all real and not a dream.0 -
jenand8285 wrote: »Miss_I great news on your scan, but it is rubbish you was not made aware about the consultant appointment. I was a little confused by my scan appointment letter. I have an appointment time but the letter said I may be waiting 2 hours to see a midwife/doctor. I did wonder if I had to wait to see someone else. Doe any of the lurkers from the 12-24 week thread know?
It would be nice to know if I will be there like 30 mins or 3 hours!
I had my 12 week scan dead on time and didn't realise id have an appointment with the midwife afterwards until I got there, it never said on my letter! hence I didn't have a urine sample with me, but I just got a pot from reception and did one after my scan
we waited absolutely ages to see the midwife, so go prepared, I suppose it depends if it's a busy day or not. we waited about 2 hours after my scan. my OH was starving (so was I!) and thirsty but we didn't want to leave the waiting room in case we missed our slot. I had one very grumpy OH by the end of it haha which spoilt the excitement of seeing our baby for the first time!

Yay tcod so pleased your scan went well! You must feel loads better having seen them x
Regarding the midwife appointment after the scan, at least my hospital were nice enough to let me know on the letter I was going to have one! I had about an hour wait I think after my scan, I took my kindle and also had a little chat to some of the other people there (I was on my own so I think they took pity on me) so the time went fairly quick. I was in and out on about 10 minutes so don't expect too much though. I'd definitely take something to read and some snacks.
As for the symptoms coming and going mine did that from about 9 1/2 weeks or so and seemed to come back a little milder each time so I think it seems quite common, it did freak me out a little too but little Purcy is all fine so try not to worry too much!
Hugs to all x0 -
I don't feel quite so many symptoms today either. It was the same last weekend so I'm shred hey'll be back with a vengeance tomorrow or Monday!
Hubby has been told he's going to Italy on a course with work in May (he works for a company owned by Italians). I've just worked it out that it's at 20 weeks! He says he wasn't at any scans of his kids from first marriage, but there's not a chance I'm going alone to mine!No longer ...tobe! After my 1st MW appt on Thursday, I received my scan date letter this morning. It's on the 19th March. That was quick. One more thing to worry about I suppose :-)

Thank you fireyfirenze, that is very good to know. We can pick a sandwich up on the way
I do think they should make it clearer though.
Lollipopswater, I had my booking appt. on the Monday and received the letter from the hospital on that Friday confirming my appointment. My mw said they do sometimes loose the requests and to call them if I had not heard anything in 2 weeks.0 -
*delurking from 12-24wk thread.
I had my 12 week scan, but no midwife appointment/Dr after. I'd seen midwife a couple of weeks before then, took urine & had bloods taken at drop in clinic afterwards, and had consultant 3 days later though.
At the 12 week scan I was had scanned, then a few minutes wait had bloods taken by a nurse in another room. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
You're welcome Mrs_I, it's no excuse but often what happens. I had no idea most people had to hang around so long! Glad to know to stock up on fluids and snacks.
Daisiegg - like the others say, remember that the symptoms do fluctuate and that's normal.
Lollypopswater - if you book to go away and your scan is that week, you can let the midwife know you're away and they will rearrange it. If you were the sort of person who went away for business trips or had already booked it pre your bfp, they would work round it. Time away can only be good for you, hubby and the little one in terms of feeling less stressed and more rested. if you found it meant you had your scan a week late or early would you mind?Met DH to be 2010
