Dixie chicks is on the short list that I carry around on the phone. :) But I'm not close enough to the 'scene' to know of any other newer names!

Well Lady Antebellum are the only ones who are biggish over here but then there are people like Blake Shelton, Kip Moore, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood....love them all :D Just lots of fun and cheerful and makes me want to leave it all behind and go live in some backwater town in the South and like drive a truck and go swimming in a lake at midnight and wear a red sundress and drink cold beer.

    Lol :o
  • Loving the music choices today! :D

One very happy Mrs_I here this morning - just got back from our 12 week dating scan. :j Baby is very well, dated at 12w 3d, however they do think it might be slightly further on than that as baby was curled up napping and would not move no matter what I did (coughing, wriggling hips, bouncing hips up and down on bed). They couldn't believe how chilled out baby was, properly chilled with legs crossed and hands behind head (slightly surprising with me as a mother, must take after it's father). It moved slightly when I moved onto my side, which was enough for them to get the nuchal fold measurement (1.4mm so all fine). There was a student there who asked if she could scan me, which I said of course, and then baby woke up and started moving and kicking which was very emotional and wonderful to see. We ended up being scanned for another good ten minutes while the student got used to the machine and ended up with 9 pictures! Including a very bizarre one of the baby's face front on, which is slightly freaky...

Got my bloods taken for the additional Downs' test, which amazingly they got blood first time. They also weighed me and I've lost 6lb since my booking in appointment! The joys of losing your appetite and sweet tooth!

Absolutely bouncing, and it would appear time for me to move on to the next thread. I have no doubt I'll still be lurking though! Best of luck all of you and look forward to seeing you guys on the next thread. :)

  • Thank you, daisiegg and mdhughes! :)

Slightly miffed - just had a phonecall from a midwife at the hospital saying "we were expecting to see you today" - I said I'd been in for my scan, was everything okay? She said apparently I was meant to wait around and see the consultant today! Nobody told me this!! The girls in the scan room had asked if I was under consultant care, confirmed I was due to my BMI and a family history of heart conditions, but we'd not heard anything more about when we'd see a consultant - and they didn't say anything! But apparently after my scan and bloods I was meant to go in to the consultant and discuss a plan for the pregnancy.

I had no idea. I feel so guilty at wasting their time! So now I've got to wait for a letter to come through the post giving me an appointment for next week. Again, making me feel guilty as I'll have to take MORE time off work. :(

    Congrats Miss! Pleased for you!

Loving that music idea T2D - may do that myself. I'm going to download that babycentre app.

The icon is Orange. I'm on Android by the way.
  • Music? What's that? I don't have time to listen to music unless it's in the background at work when it's radio or if the boss is off I take my iPad and put the tunes on shuffle! You never know what you're gonna get when I do that!

Just had mum on the phone as I told her on Sunday, she's itching for me to tell another lot of family so that she can tell my sister but have told her I'll be doing that part myself! She's predicting a boy even though it's months away yet and she hasn't seen me for a while.

Not sure if my trousers getting tighter is my imagination or if I'm eating too much, the only thing that seems to stop me feeling queasy unit now even though I'm not actually sick. Thought I was going to be last night right enough, hubby came to bed and cuddled in and I struggled to get out for the mad dash, by the time I got out and to the bathroom the feeling had gone. Phew!
