I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. At what point does the knicker checking stop? :rotfl: I had my appointment with my GP on Wednesday and have been referred to the midwife so should be hearing from them soon!

I dont think I will ever stop checking.
May have just found a revolting but apparently miracle cure for my hacking cough.
Onions and honey warmed up. Tastes as bad as it sounds but hopefully will work.

    I am due 10th feb 2019

I am the same knicker checking. Funnily enough it was the trip to the Doctors that made me paranoid more than anything. We went last week (this is our first child so I was not sure of the procedure) and they doctor said while it is good news that it is still early days and not to get too excited. That really made me feel quite worried about the possibility of miscarriage. Ever since then I find myself going to the toilet every hour or so on the day just to check. I will be 6 weeks tomorrow and I have read that once you get to 6 weeks the chances of miscarriage reduces a lot but Im still scared.

Thats awful of your doctor to say that.
I must admit I am nervous but I had a miscarriage before so i think I have good reason.
I am taking each day as it comes and as long as I dont have pain or bleeding I will take it as good.
Yes there will always be a chance of miscarriage but theres also a bloody bigger percentage of healthy pregnancies.

I know, it did surprise me. I looked into miscarriage online and like you say there’s a much bigger percentage of pregnancies that turn into a healthy pregnancy than miscarriage. I try to focus my mind on that. I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and all is well so far but I don’t think I’ll relax until I’ve had my scan

Have you thought about a private scan? They arent cheap but it might help reassure you for a bit

I did look into it briefly as my poor sister had a miscarriage earlier this year at 5 weeks, well she’s pregnant again (due 3 weeks before me) and wanted an early scan so I am considering getting one however it’s going to be a busy few weeks for my husband and I at work so we might not be able to fit it in before 12 weeks anyway :( but I will look into it more

I'm 7 weeks and the knicker checking hasn't stopped. I'm trying to hold out but I'm seeing my midwife on Friday so might book a private scan after that, I'm just a bit concerned as I've heard lots of bad things, and the more qualified places are obviously more expensive.

I'm the same with knicker checking! OH and I discussed a private scan but OH would rather wait until the NHS scan which I kinda understand. The nausea has fully taken hold now, and I vomited last night which was less than pleasant. I seem to get a wave of nausea in the morning and again in the evening, so I've stocked up on some plain snacks to get me through the day at work, hoping it won't be too obvious that I'm not feeling well.
