I am so sorry to hear your news too, Cherry :(

I don't think it ever goes away, particularly when it is a very much wanted baby, but try to take it easy xx

Hi everyone I guess I am back here again a couple of years later. To recap over my story I have a 5 year old son who was my first pregnancy (perfect pregnancy and delivery), we then tried two years ago for another baby. It too 6 months to get pregnant and I found out at about 6/7 weeks that it was ectopic and the pregnancy was ended with methotrexate, we waited to recommended 3 months and tried again getting pregnant straight away. I was scanned early and often because of the ectopic and everything was going fine, the last scan was at 8 weeks and they let me go from early pregnancy and I was sent away to come back for the normal 12 week scan. When I went for it we were told that the baby had miscarried and I bled a few days later. We stopped trying after that as I couldn't cope with the loss again.
Fast forward to today and we started trying 3 months ago, I am about 6 weeks pregnant and living everyday terrified. I was referred to the EPPC again last week because of the previous ectopic they wanted to check everything was in the right place. We had the appointment his afternoon and the lady that did the scan said that she could see the sac etc but that we need to come back in ten days as I am measuring about 5 weeks.
I haven't told anyone this time as my whole family took it so hard the last couple of times and were all upset for my loss and I don't think I could cope with telling them that it had gone wrong again ☹️
I can't stop thinking about everything that has happened and I feel like it is really putting a downer on this pregnancy, I don't want to be too excited in case I lose this one too. I'm so stressed.
Sorry for the long story but I think I just want to let everything out and talk without having to talk to my family

Cherry I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Take it easy and I hope you have someone at home to look after you x
  • Hi everyone, I am 6 weeks into my first pregnancy and I'm looking for some advice and tips around taking the folic acid/vitamin D combination, I used the tablets from 4 1/2 weeks (surprise pregnancy so I wasn't taking anything previously) I was really struggling taking them as the pills were so big and absolutely vile, I bought a Pregnacare liquid form instead but even this is awful, the taste just makes me feel so sick and I dread taking it. Does anyone have any tips on what I could buy?

So sorry to read above the above miscarriages, very sad and I really hope you are all well and taking it easy.

Hi moreofthegoodstuff - which ones were you taking? I took Seven Seas which were still large but tasted far better than pregnacare. It did take a bit of practice though!

Are you taking combined supplements? My normal dose folic acid tablets are just tesco ones and they are tiny (similar size to the pill). I'm still on high dose folic acid prescribed by hospital and they are still tiny. Can't help with the vit D as my OH bought them for me, and got combined vit d and calcium tablets from tesco as he was sceptical I was getting enough calcium from my first trimester diet of crackers and toast, and they are huge! I found supplements in the normal supplements section were much cheaper than pregnancy specific ones, even though the ingredients are identical.
  • I agree with penguingirl.
I took separate ones which were much smaller than pregnacare.
