  • Lovely to hear all these scan stories.
7 weeks tomorrow and I'm getting so impatient to see the midwife next week and then the scan whenever that is.
I keep coming close to blurting it out to people that I'm expecting but I'm doing well so far.
I've also got a stinking cold too :(

Aww, I don't envy you. It seemed to take forever from finding out to having a scan and then being able to tell everyone! :(

At first it was a nice little secret between just us but, by the end, we were DESPERATE to tell people!

The thing with Christmas and New Year is that you should find that it speeds up at least that week anyway :o

Hope you feel better soon :(
  • Hi all,

Scan went really well and it was breathtaking both for me and hubby to see our little bub moving around in there!

Got classed as low risk for the various chromosomal disorders so that's good and all the organs and limbs were present and correct! Got 5 photos to take away and have spent most of this evening updating those who know and sharing the secret with those who don't know. Had the most wonderful day!

And I'm feeling really happy about being nearly finished at my work contract and not having to go back even though it puts me in an uncertain position job wise for the new year. I didn't want to go back there (awful commute; dreadful management) and there are enough £££ stashed away in my company to see me through several months so if the worst happens and I don't find anything else we'll be OK. I will qualify for SMP from my own company so no issues there.

I'm going to move up a thread! Good luck everyone and see you all there soon!
Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!

Snow glad the scan went well! See you over on the other thread, I'll be joining in a few days when I've officially passed the 12week mark (since they put me back at the scan)!

Munchkin hope the cold goes away soon. I found time went quickish if I distracted myself with other things.

Aww Sweetbabu enjoy shopping and buying a bit of something for baby.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Hi everyone,
Had the scan last week - amazing! I've got a naughty bubba though, the sonographer put the wand on, found it in just the right position, managed to get the nuchal fold measurement then it was off like a rocket, kicking and waving! She said it was definitely one of the more lively babies she had scanned that day 😂 Haven't heard back re screening but we were told if there was an issue we would be contacted in 2 days, and that was a week ago so pretty sure all is fine :j
Now I'm 13weeks exactly (no sign of the demon nausea abating sadly) I'm going to hop over to the other thread. See you all there soon!
    Baby due 21/06/2017 :)

Dreadful night last night, just couldn't get to sleep and then felt pretty nauseous. Ended up with a piece of toast at half 1. Husband assumed I'd gone downstairs as something was up with the dog! She was a bit bemused but took herself back to bed, I can only assume this bean won't be that easy
  • Hello!
Introducing myself - I'm 24, in the middle of a massive career change but really excited to be pregnant. I'm 7 weeks and a few days (having a scan tomorrow!!) and as lovely as it is that there is potentially a little person in there, pregnancy is horrible! Can't wait til the 12 weeks are over just so hopefully some of the symptoms will be alleviated. OH was very, very scared when we found out but is quite excited now. We're in the middle of renovating our house on a tiny tiny budget so everything's changing all at once and we're trying to catch up :rotfl:
It will be nice to speak to some other pregnant people!
  • hello... tentatively joining this thread as I am 4wk 6days today. Feels very early and I feel like I can't take anything for granted yet although haven't been able to help myself peeping down the previously foreign (and mind blowing) baby sections in the supermarket (how cute are the Christmas baby gros?) :)

Going to GP between Christmas and New Year although I am about to change GPs and was wondering if I should do that first (have moved house recently to a new area) or shall I go to the first appt with the old GP and then change over? I suppose having everything joined up would be easier but paranoid signing up to new practice and then getting an appt will take forever!

Lovely to read that some of you have had scans recently, can't wait for the reassurance a scan will bring. Ovia tells me that my little bun is the size of a poppy seed, just seems so tiny and vulnerable for now. :o

Just popping back to add that I had no trouble getting an appointment as soon as I signed up with a new surgery - in fact they were a vast improvement on the old one! I would change first - easier than trying to manage them passing information across...

    And congratulations!

Hey chickenmama just delurking to say have you checked you need to do GP at all? In many areas you just ask for a referral to the midwife rather than needing an actual GP appointment - no point wasting your time if you don't need to x
