It went well. We just gave them the envelope with the photos in and said we had some pictures to show them, think they nearly fell off their seats. But they seem excited. Did also ask whether it was planned, cheeky so and sos. Feel like saying, no, but after nearly 10 years together, buying a family house and having a recent promotion we just got lucky with the timing of our accident...0

Aww good, I'm glad to hear that! Though your answer to the 'was it planned?' question would have been amusing!
We're still trying to figure out how we're going to tell everyone.
For our daughter, we're thinking about giving her an early Christmas present of a tshirt with world's best sister written on. That should confuse her for a little bit!0 -
Hope everyone else's weekend was better than mine! Really struggled with heartburn on Friday and then a tender oesophagus plus worsening nausea for the rest of the weekend. Made it into work today but couldn't face breakfast... my mum said the worst of her morning sickness was weeks 6-8 so I am really hoping this is all over within a couple of weeks!!Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!0 -
I'm having a bit of an odd time. I'm a massive worrier at the best of times, and reduction in symptoms last few days is really worrying me
Somehow my biggest fear seems to be that I have miscarried and am unaware. Friend at work has offered to lend me her angel heartbeat monitor, but I'm pretty sure they don't work this early in any case.
Otherwise I am just finding stuff a bit hard physically - my office is up a flight of stairs and I'm finding myself out of breath at the top. Bit embarrassing! Played a tennis match on Saturday, same problem - don't seem to be able to catch enough breath. Is that normal at 7 weeks?0 -
Penguin glad to hear they took the announcement well.
Sweet I think that's such a cute idea for telling your little one. I can't wait to tell my little sisters/niece/newphew. Kids have the best reactions!
Firebird I'm with you on that one. My mind goes into complete over drive sometimes. I have my scan in 3 weeks and whilst I'm excited, part of me is absolutely petrified something has happened and I won't find out till then.
Me and the OH are off this week, so looking forward to not having to rush about and take the gym etc at my own pace when it's nice and quiet. Other than that I think I'm just going to sleep. Still finding myself sleeping for Scotland.0 -
Firebird one of my first symptoms was being out of breath sooner than I should be.
Didn't really have a great weekend, still suffering with the nausea 24/7 and the cyclizine seems to make me so drowsy so only taking one a day. Woke up today with a trip to the dentist and I think the fresh air has done me good.
My booking in appointment is tomorrow, scan still two weeks away, going so slow!0 -
Firebird try not to worry, I know easier said than done! Getting out of breath easy is something I'm struggling with to, plus it's still a symptom
Penguin glad it went well at the weekend, would of made me chuckle if you had responded with that!!
Not feeling too bad atm, nausea comes and goes in waves as does cramping/stretching. Get to ring up Thursday to arrange booking in appt which I'm excited for.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Thanks for the reassurances folks
I will try* and stop worrying...
*though another 35 weeks of Not Worrying is going to be quite difficult!0 -
Firebird- I hope you're not worrying too much. Last weekend when we had our wobble I then started worrying about the worrying as I know stress isn't good for baby either! Also for me it was the realisation that I am now going to worry about this little person forever, but just during pregnancy.
I've found my symptoms have really changed in these last 11 weeks so try not to read into the changes. I've definitely got a lot less symptoms now that I did. Weeks 5-10 were probably my worst so far, although cramps were bad from 3.5-6.
For those with kids- a friend of mine videoed the reaction of their 4 year old, it was hilarious!0 -
Hi all,
Firebird, believe me, I know the worry free world is easier said than done. But 99% of the time everything is fine, so hang in there!
I've had a rough 24 hours. I ended up keeled over with one sided abdo pain, tried the usual pain relief, positional changes, warm bath and it was just getting worse and worse. So off to A&E we trot. They thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy and I've literally never been more scared. They did a urine test then wouldn't say the results til I'd seen gynae, which made me convinced that my hcg was negative and I'd miscarried. Basically ended up in tears on a junior doctor saying is my hcg positive or not? Thankfully it was and I think they realised that I'm not someone you should keep things from, I made Niagara Falls look like the desert :rotfl:
Anyway long story short after a battery of tests and internal exams, I don't have an ectopic, everything is developing fine (I had a scan and saw it - it's still just a round ball but We could see its heart beating which was amazing) and its scar tissue from a previous op getting all pulled and stretched out of place, causing the pains. Now I know what it is, even though it's unpleasant, I can deal with it. Off work for a few days to let the worst of it die down. I haven't mentioned anything to my family yet - I don't want to upset them or make them worry unnecessarily, the worry was bad enough for me and hubs.
Hope everyone else's week is going a bit more smoothly! XxBaby due 21/06/20170
