  • Me too - it seems to be worst in the mornings when I've just got up. Struggled with a bowl of cereal this morning (thought I was going to throw up in the sink!), but have been fine since I got to work (good thing, as it's charity cake sale day!).

I think ginger biscuits do help - I have a packet in my desk drawer now. A colleague also recommends ginger tea, which I may have to investigate. The other thing I'm finding easy to eat are crispbreads, in place of actual bread.

Pidge_jen - home visits? Wow! That sounds much nicer than going to the surgery. Hope it goes well.

I have to also hugely recommend eating little and often - even if it's the plainest food imaginable. My nausea got even worse the emptier my stomach was and the mdiwife said it's one thing almost all pregnant women should do to keep away nausea and keep energy levels up.

Lemon & ginger tea is very good too :)
Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 2017
  • I found I couldn't eat till my stomach felt settled in the morning so waited till I got to work to have a small breakfast then just small snacks throughout the day. Only made the mistake of eating on the way to work once!!

17+3 now and eating like a pig!!

GinGin's are good for nausea. I think it was someone on here that recommended them earlier in the year. You can get them from amazon or holland&barrett.
Luckily sickness/nausea isn't something that has hit me with full force yet, just a few moments, still quite early though. I am expecting it possibly to arrive in the next couple of weeks. And as much as I would like to actually ''feel'' pregnant i'm sure i'll soon change my mind when I'm trying to hide the nausea.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

I fully back eating little and often, and also plain food. I've found a new love for wraps with chicken and cucumber. Nice, plain and simple.

Got my scan date through today, so I should be about 13+1 which is bang on when my trainer thought I would have it. Spoke to her this morning about it not being through yet and she mentioned that its usually 13 weeks in my area. So I can't wait. Scan and then the consultant, only because I had a sister born with T13, so I guess they want to make sure its all ok. I'm excited. Only another 4 weeks to go.

Oh I used to love wraps with cream cheese and cucumber. This may be something to try again!

I definitely agree with eating little and often! I find that after a few hours of eating - it doesn't matter what, or how much - I am absolutely starving. I'm finding Special K milk chocolate cereal bars an absolute godsend. Crumpets (toasted and plain) are also good for me at the moment.

I was having shepherds pie last night for dinner (having loved it last week) and I was feeling really nauseated before hand - the shepherds pie actually made me feel worse! :( I do hope I'm not going off my dinners  I am finding that my tastes are changing on an almost daily basis - I don't remember anything like this with my daughter. Nausea, yes but not the going off food (I never thought that was possible with me :rotfl:
Yes definitely! I think we're sorted for a girl, but got no idea for a boy. And there's loads of boys in OH's family, so I think we'll get a boy. OH thinks girl. Tbh, I don't really care (naming challenges aside!)
No, we're happy either way too (but fingers crossed if it's a boy, it's only one or the second born son will be a girls name at this rate!). OH says that it's a girl as he's destined to live forever with glitter and hairs everywhere :o :rotfl: I'm leaning towards a boy... but only because we've already got a girl!

Omg no I find girls names impossible! I did go to an all girls school though so think maybe I have too many associations.
No, that definitely doesn't help. Plus, when we were going through names I'm like "I've got a cousin called that" at every second name.

I think my nausea and tiredness are starting to improve. I was off loads of foods, completely off milk, tea/coffee etc and most sweet food which is unlike me! I had a couple of weeks of pretty much living off toast and butter, crackers, satsumas and water. OH said I just snarled at my breakfast! I found ginger tea made me feel worse. It's funny you mentioned shepherd's pie sweetbabu, as my worst meal was meatballs- maybe its a mince thing? The last few days I've found I've started to be interested in food again and have expanded my range of foods significantly. Although just been out for tea and had a pudding too and now feel really sick! Oops.

Well, that's what I was thinking; mince. And I was really dreading having dinner tonight (bolognese) - but I actually did really well with it. Go figure?!

It's bizarre isn't it? We're due to have spag bol tomorrow so will see how I get on! Although I suspect much better, as a couple of weeks ago I had gone right off fish (usually love it) but really enjoyed it again last night.

Midwife was lovely! So many choices for screening though which I didn't realise...head was spinning, one test, two, three, four?!
Whoever named it morning sickness needs shooting :rotfl: - it's more of a passive aggressive low level nausea that rears its head the second you stop eating! I'm already constantly snacking, and am worried I'm gonna pile on tons of weight to the extent where I look 9 months in a few weeks! But at the mo it's anything to keep the nausea at bay. Ginger biscuits and vinegar (I know, weird!) seem to work best.
    Baby due 21/06/2017 :)
