Whoever named it morning sickness needs shooting :rotfl: - it's more of a passive aggressive low level nausea that rears its head the second you stop eating! I'm already constantly snacking, and am worried I'm gonna pile on tons of weight to the extent where I look 9 months in a few weeks!
Ha! That's such a good description - exactly how I'm feeling. Sipping water seems to help me, but fizzy drinks are better - not exactly healthy :o

Glad you had a good appointment though :D

Glad midwife app went well pidge_jen, can't wait until I can book mine!
Haha whatever works to keep that nausea at bay!! Mine was creeping in this afternoon, I'm finding anything too sweet sets it off, so hopefully that will keep too much excess weight gain off :P

I found vinegar-y stuff was ok as well. Basically the more savoury the better. Cheese and pickle toasties are the best (having not had one for about 10 years, I needed to buy pickle specifically. It was like heaven). Diet coke is good, but I try to avoid. Tonic water also helps if things get desperate.

I knew about 'morning' sickness and tiredness etc, but I can honestly say that this first trimester has been a lot worse than I anticipated. But onwards and upwards!

    How's everyone doing?

Anyone found themselves having cravings yet? I seem to be getting really random one off cravings just now. The other night it was Findus Crispy Pankcakes and then BBQ Ribs last night. Today I want pastry. Foods I usually wouldn't eat, or have not eaten for ages. I have no idea the last time I had crispy pancakes but they were all I could think about a few nights ago :rotfl:
  • Only craving so far has been for creme caramels. And not just once either!

Tiredness seems to be getting worse, and I'm supposed to be playing a tennis match tomorrow - still wondering whether I should stand down.

No real cravings yet but I've gone off cucumber big time, it just tastes awful and normally I love it.

  • I craved cheese for a couple of days pre-BFP but other than that no cravings or aversions towards particular foods. I'm doing a bit better sickness-wise after a bad day on Wednesday too which is good.

However I do seem to have developed an intermittent lump in the throat which is bothering me. I've had it before with stress - so not sure if it's the same or if it's pregnancy related. I don't *think* I'm stressed at the moment! Taking life quite easy. Ah well. Maybe a weekend will cure it.

Still only able to eat slowly and having to limit portions to ward off nausea developing but that strategy seems to be successful. Hoping I don't lose any weight - relaxing my usual "no snacks" rule to compensate for the smaller meals.

Had my first real strong hit it nausea this morning at 1.30am!!! I woke with with trapped wind which I was then ok (tmi :o) and I ended up sat on the bathroom floor for about 10mins in limbo. Luckily no actual being sick but it was horrific! Quite a restless sleep too as I found I was dreaming so vividly that I dont feel over rested today.
Hope everyone is ok and has a good weekend :)

Oh yes the dreams can be horrid!

I went bra shopping today, much better now! I actually ended up getting some non wired bras on tesco after not liking M&Ss. And they were super cheap so can just replace if these bad boys continue to grow. OH was very happy to help with measuring!

Looking forward to telling my parents tomorrow, I think they will be surprised, but also very excited. We've printed them some copies of the scan

How did it go today penguin? :D

Well I saw the midwife on Thursday and she filled out all the paperwork so the scan could be booked. She then said, when she has that information, she'll pop out to see me for the - wait for it - booking appointment.

Mystery solved! Quite why it took so long after speaking with three receptionists and two Drs being told all the while that they - and indeed this appointment with the midwife - was the booking appointment, I'm not sure?! But I'm not sure that I trust my new surgery anyway... particularly as they STILL have my date of birth wrong :undecided
