Busy day today. Didn't feel too exhausted after last night's terrible sleep thankfully. Phoned the doctor's surgery and booked in with the midwife but it's not for another month - I'll be 8+6 then.
Also went to my usual Pilates class and spoke to the teacher at the beginning who told me how to modify the exercises. Sounds like I'll need more modifications as the weeks pass but it wasn't too different for now.
The nausea held off all day until an hour ago at dinner but it was mild. I was able to keep it at bay and finished my dinner which was good... as I realised this morning I've lost 4lb in the last month unintentionally. So don't want to be under eating!
Hope everyone else is doing well; glad your appointment went well penguin. Is it worth bringing OH to the midwife appointment then if you discuss genetics? I had assumed I'd go alone.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.

Depending on how easy it is for your OH to have time off I wouldn't bother taking him with you, midwife appointments really are mainly about you. I just asked him for a bit of family history before I went.
If you do take him, booking appointment fair enough but def dont' bother for 16 week unless you know for sure they're going to listen to the heartbeat and want him there for that. They don't in my area and I was in and out in 10 mins.
8+6 is normal for booking in too - I didn't have mine til 10 weeks. Sadly it's because of the number lost before then, but does make sense.
Glad you're all doing ok and hope to see you all on the later threads in a few weeksOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

Definitely Susie, time is just flying. I'm the same, you cross off all the other stuff you've got going on and before you know it, it's here.
Penguin, I have the MW next week, so will double check then. I've read bleach is supposed to be bad, but then if your getting highlights that's supposed to be better because its not directly on the scalp. I've also read that the amounts of chemicals are so small that it won't do any harm. I'm tempted to just rebook it for after the 12 weeks. Glad the MW appointment went well.
Snow, I brought my OH to my first MW appointment purely because he wanted to be there. She asked him a few questions on his family history side, but it was stuff that I could answer. We've decided that I'll probably go to the rest of them bar scans on my own, since it is much easier for me to get time off. Although when he told his boss, he did say that my OH could have as much time as he needed off, so that's a bonus. Glad to hear the nausea is being kept at bay.
See you in a few weeks Cat0 -
My OH works from home, and midwife appointments are only round the corner so it's very easy for him to attend. I don't know if he'll come to them all though- it'll probably depend on if he's around/busy. It was nice to have a bit of moral support.0

My OH has his own business so time off work is no problem. I agree that I would only bother taking him to the first one - just because this is all new to us and quite exciting! If they are just quick checkups after than then no point, I agree.
This is where being self-employed is going to let me down as I will have to take time off for appointments and I am only paid for the work I do. But we should have enough savings to make it work - plus no planning any actual holidays for a while! I'm keeping it a secret from work as long as I can as there's nothing to stop them terminating my contract. Although hopefully I shouldn't find it too hard to find another if that does happen.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.

Hi Pidge - my story identical to yours! Only I did join the TTC thread only to last there all of two weeks! I'm currently 4+5 so you must be almost exactly the same? Even though I'm suffering with mild nausea and no sign of my period, I still don't *quite* believe it.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.

If you don't mind TMI, carry on...
I seem to have developed in the last 24 hours what feels very much like the start of thrush - anyone else suffered with this in early pregnancy? I'm guessing it's hormonal? It's not *too bad* but not ideal - a little uncomfortable and can be confused with needing the loo! Will it sort itself out as the hormones rebalance or am I able to use a pessary and cream?
I am pretty susceptible to thrush normally... this would be my third bout this year. Usually get it after a course of antibiotics.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.

It might be worth speaking to a pharmacist about what treatment you can buy. I've been told you can use the cream and pessary but have to insert it yourself rather than use the applicator but I'm not sure and I know there are different strength creams. So best to check.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Congratulations Pidge, and welcome!
I've been outed by several people already - I have no idea how anyone manages to keep it a secret for 12 weeks?! Got another pub trip next week - DH has 'volunteered' to drink heavily to give credance to my being the driver...very generous of him...!
Have just started to have very short moments of nausea - not too enthusiastic about them becoming longer moments0
