Just behind me then, I'm 7 weeks today. I had expected you to be ahead as you left the ttc thread first, but I was late testing.

Hope it goes well for your OH. We're lucky that my parter works from home and midwife appointment is first thing so he's just going to tell his boss he has an appointment and not go into details.

Yeah I had tested the day AF was supposed to arrive and again the day after, which is when I got my BFP.

Thanks I'm sure it will, just have a habit of over worrying for zero reasons ha.

FYI ladies just delurking to say OH definitely doesn't need to attend midwife appointments. It's all about you. Scans yes but midwife really isn't needed - mine would have been very bored whilst she did my blood pressure and gave me leaflets about vaccines!!

Of course up to you though but just saying it's not worth using holiday or anything x

April - Yes, I've got an angelsounds doppler. I know they don't really recommend them but I like to listen in and I haven't been worried when I couldn't find it. I hope your partner gets the time off. It's nice to go to the appts together.

Penguin - I'm glad you've got supportive colleagues, it sounds like option of working from home would be handy. I've found snacking a lot helps, my nausea gets worse if I don't eat for a while. I have to have something by my bed so I can eat before I get up or else I vomit. I keep my sick wrist bands on but I'm not sure whether they help! I like looking at this website too, http://www.weeksduringpregnancy.com/calculators/howmanyweeks.php?month=04&day=26&year=2017 Knowing that I am 27% of the way through the pregnancy (if I'm not overdue!!) makes things easier. We won't feel this rubbish forever.

I am 11 weeks today. I was pretty sure my nausea wasn't this bad last time but I've just read my old posts on here. Apparently I was struggling at work and living on polo mints but just before my 12 week scan I took a pregnancy test as all my symptoms had stopped! I don't remember that at all! I hope my symptoms disappear again soon :D
  • Hello everyone, I'm just moving up from the TTC thread. Two tests so far, both positive lines about half the strength of the control line, so am slightly concerned, but have also been showing symptoms (sore boobs, tiredness), which is promising.

When did you all first go to the doctor? I've read the NHS guidance, my my surgery guidance, and they seem to imply no need until the booking in appointment at 8-11 weeks, which seems an awfully long time to wait without any reassurance!

Edit: Should have added, I'm at 4.5 weeks, so very early days.

Congratulations firebird! It varies on your area. I asked at my drs reception and they gave me a direct number for the midwifery clerks at the hospital. They asked a few questions then made a booking appt with the midwife at 8 weeks.

I wouldn't worry about the tests, a positive is a positive! You could do a digital test to put your mind at rest?

    Hey Firebird congratulations.

I called the doctors, a few days after my positive, and the receptionist booked me in for an appointment to see the midwife for tomorrow, which makes me about 7+1.

As Faerie said, a positive is a positive regardless of how faint the line is :)
  • Thanks both - will give the surgery a ring in a couple of days then (just a nuisance, as no way I'm doing it from work!).

    Hi Firebird  congratulations!

I'm very early days too and know exactly what you mean! It feels very surreal to 'be pregnant' based on the strength of a couple of positive tests (very positive, one digital). I did see a GP a couple of weeks ago to check about some medication I'm taking - I thought they might do a blood test or something but she made it clear that they trust the pregnancy tests and they really weren't interested in seeing me at all!

I've made my first midwife appointment for a couple of weeks, but I'm feeling a bit weird as I'm not really having any symptoms and feel like maybe it's not real?

    Congrats firebird and poddle

I'm 8 weeks today and not been seen by a Dr/midwife yet. I'm booked in with midwife on Monday. I know what you mean about it being odd. I am getting quite a lot of symptoms (nausea, stomach aches, excessive tiredness, sore & growing boobs) so whilst I'm not enjoying it, it is also quite reassuring as it feels 'something' is happening.

    Hope everyone is doing ok
