Congratulations Pidge.
Found myself really struggling today. Have had waves of nausea but no real sickness previously, today I've been sick in my mouth twice, when on the phone so had no option but to swallow it (sorry not the most pleasant of pictures I know). Between that, and the dizziness/lightheadness I just want to go home to my bed. Only another 3 and a half hours left of work to go.
I had two people at work guess today Firebird, but its people I trust to be quiet. On the plus they have said they will keep their snack drawer topped up with biscuits for me. So I guess there's a bonus in there somewhere.0 -
Hi all. Well the 'thrush' doesn't seem to be bothering me today so with fingers crossed it was hormonal and my body is already sorting itself out. Will just keep an eye on it but hopefully it will pass if its own accord.
My sleep has also been fine after my one disturbed night but already sleeping on my left side seems to be the most comfy?! I normally flit between right side, back and front but none of those are working for me at the moment. I've persuaded OH to swap sides in the bed so that I can go on my left whilst facing the edge (can never sleep all night facing the middle!) ended up rolling onto my stomach in the night last night and woke up with quite a sore tummy so that seems to already be a poor idea...
but luckily apart from that sleep has been sound.
I find nausea is striking for me (at the moment) any mealtime when I eat more than 75% of my usual portion size. Originally thought it was just dinner but having just had mild nausea during a large lunch think it's more related to portions! OH packed me a much larger lunch than I would normally have and I haven't come close to finishing...
Luckily I can control the nausea if I stop eating and there's no sign of vomiting or digestive issues. Dreading week 6 though as I understand that's when morning sickness properly kicks in if you're going to get it?
Fingers crossed for us both sticking with our short bouts of nausea, firebird!Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.

Hi guys, been lurking on here for a couple of weeks! Im coming up to 9 weeks now, found out whilst on holiday at 6 weeks and unfortunately had a few bouts of nausea that put a little damper on the hols.
Im really suffering with the nausea and tiredness at the moment, the best way to describe it is that it feels like a hangover - and it sucks!
Received my first appointment(1/11) and scan date (16/11) today, wishing for the nauseous feeling to be over. Haven't told anyone this time (we had an early miscarriage around this time last year) and signed myself off sick from work the last few days as the underground journey is not helping at all!0 -
Well we had our booking appointment today. The doctor, sadly a locum, was fantastic and we're booked in to see the midwife next week.
We an appointment last week that was supposed to be the booking but the receptionist got all googly-eyed when I mentioned pregnancy and didn't book long enough out - even Mr SB said he saw her face light up :rotfl: As a consequence, my back side barely hit the seat when the Dr had us back out at reception to make another appointment.
I'm currently six weeks and three days and had an awful, awful morning on Monday which was six weeks exactly. I could barely drive the mile to school and spent the morning on the sofa, trying to sleep off the nausea. I was dreading the next six weeks, but have been fine since. Small bouts of nausea, but nothing anywhere near to that.
My boobs are still sore - almost feel like they're on fire! But I have lost the metallic taste in my mouth. I'm still not enjoying tea though and have been a bit dehydrated as I'm struggling to drink enough water - I will try vimto when I do my next shop
Due date is June 12th :j
Mr SB is amazing at looking after me and making sure that I'm ok. I'm so luckyfirebird082 wrote: »Got another pub trip next week - DH has 'volunteered' to drink heavily to give credance to my being the driver...very generous of him...!0 -
Well we had our booking appointment today.
Already? I haven't even managed to phone the doctor to make an appointment yet! Too busy at work, and my office seems to be full of people until 6pm when the surgery closes! Might see if we can drop by on the way home tonight and do it. Need to alert them to my change of name as well...0 -
I'm having a pretty stressful time. Had a very small amount of bleeding in the shower last night. Rang the midwife team this morning who put me through to the early pregnancy unit who were fully booked today so sent me to A&E. A&E were lovely but wanted me to see obs & gynae. O&G consultant was just going into ward round so said it would be at least 3 hours before he could see me. I was given the choice of waiting there, or coming home and consultant ringing me and the promise of a scan on Monday. So we've gone for that as I was finding A&E very stressful. So now I'm at home waiting for the phone call. A&E told me to come back if there is any more bleeding or any pain. I keep fluctuating between being very calm and just crying. But I guess now it's just a waiting game.0

Firebird don't worry that sweetbabu's is a bit early - in our area they won't even see you for booking in until minimum 8 weeks.
Sorry if you've already looked at this but in some areas (including mine) you don't actually see a doctor to book anything, you just get referred to the midwife and having your booking in app with her.
Penguingirl - how are you doing? I had bleeding at 10 weeks and had an early EPU scan but to be honest I found the experience pretty rubbish as they just keep telling you there's nothing they can do if anything is wrong anyway! Not what a panicked woman needs to hear, even if we know it's true!
I've had loads of bleeding on and off throughout - in my case always brown but even so. It's so hard but just try your best to relax and rest, don't do anything strenuous xxOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

Thanks cats. It was brown, and literally the smallest amount. I didn't even see it happen, it was just on the floor of the shower/bathroom floor. But it's so hard not to panic isn't it? I'm still really fatigued, so just trying to sleep my way through til Monday. I've spoken to the consultant who seemed lovely and was very reassuring, and scan is first thing Monday. I now have really mixed feelings about not having told my family. Especially as I know my mum will ring over the weekend for a general catch up. And the builders are back tomorrow, and we still have no shower so going to go to OH's BILs over the weekend when all I want to do is hide away!0

My booking in appt is with the midwife and at 8+6 so obviously they go straight to the midwife in my area too.
I'm feeling more positive about the whole thing now that AF is almost a week late and I had a whopping BFP using the same brand of test that previously had shown a TLP.
How's everyone doing with sickness? Currently I seem to be suffering very very mild nause, just an underlying feeling, all the time. Haven't had the food-related nausea the last few days so that's good.
Sorry to hear about your scare penguin, but if it was a tiny amount and brown it doesn't sound serious. A scan will definitely be reassuring though!
OH and I are thinking of telling the parents this weekend. My mum's a retired GP so I could suspect may come in useful over the next few weeks. Plus we see them most weekends and I suspect this may be the last chance to tell them on our terms rather than it being guessed! It'll only be fair to tell OH's parents as well. Apart from that and my very close friends as and when I see them and would have to make an excuse about drinking I'm waiting until the first scan.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Oh I'm so sorry penguingirl and I really really do know how you feel. If it helps though I have had spotting now at 10 weeks, 12 weeks, 15 weeks, 17 weeks and since 18 weeks I've had it almost every day and yet baby seems fine - I have my 20 week scan on Monday to confirm but I can hear her heartbeat on the doppler and feel her starting to move around!
Sometimes there is no explanation but I hope your scan on Monday can give you the reassurance you needI remember the wait for mine being horrible and it was only 24 hours, but stay strong x
