Oh no Miss I, you must be so worried and confused
this all sounds awful! I know it doesn't mean much but lots of people say they bled in early pregnancy and went on to have a healthy baby. But of course that doesn't help and if I were you I would be worried too
Friday is ages to wait! Poor you. Sending hugs xx

So worried and so very confused, Daisiegg.
I'm almost tempted to ring the EPAC direct and see if they can squeeze me in today as I am so confused and now very worried, but if they're full and couldn't give me an appointment through that midwife, then it doesn't achieve anything. Friday seems like forever away.
And, no no no, saying that does help - as you say, plenty of people bleed in early pregnancy and go on to have perfectly healthy babies. There is a teacher at the school I work in who is also Rhesus Negative and kept bleeding throughout her pregnancy too and now has a very healthy, lively daughter, so I know that it can all be okay. But right now, I can barely think straight.
Hubby did point out that given that I rang the wards direct (given I couldn't get in touch with my community midwife) with my concern after bleeding, then the wards would be unlikely to send a pregnant woman away who has been showing signs of bleeding. So would rather get me in just to be safe, rather than send me away and then have repercussions afterwards?? So are probably just covering themselves? I know he's probably right, but you can't help but worry after hearing words like that from the midwife!

How many weeks are you? (I forget) how many weeks were you when you saw the heartbeat?0
-
I also think it is almost positive that the appointment is on Friday - if they thought it was a real emergency they would squeeze you in before then?0
-
I should be now 11w 2d (going by our best dates), so pretty much bang on 12 weeks come Friday? We first saw the heartbeat at 6w 4d at our first EPAC and saw it most recently very strongly at 9w 4d where the doctor said there was no cause for concern re: the bleeding.
Daisegg, you make a very good point - I hadn't thought of it like that. As you say if they thought it was a dire emergency, they would have squeezed me in today/tomorrow, surely?

According to this website http://www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/information/ultrasound-scans/:There’s a heartbeat,but I’m still bleeding…
If the scan does pick up a heartbeat and the baby appears to be the right size according to your dates, this can be very reassuring, even if you are still bleeding.
Research has shown that if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks of pregnancy, the chances of the pregnancy continuing are 78%.
A heartbeat at 8 weeks increases the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks that goes up to 99.4%.
So things could still go wrong and sadly sometimes do, but as long as there is a heartbeat, the risk of miscarriage decreases as the weeks go by.
....of course that is no help for the people who are the 2% that still mc after finding a heartbeat at 8 weeks but as you can see, the odds are very much in your favour at the moment. Xx0 -

Daisiegg, you absolute diamond. Seeing statistics like that really do help ease the worry and put my mind at ease. Thank you SO much.

You're welcomedon't want to give anyone false hope but that is the miscarriage association website so I guess their statistics should be trustworthy. I can only imagine how you must be feeling - I am so panicky about the risk of mc even with no reason to be that i don't even want to think how I would feel if I had had bleeding or anything.
.......
On another note.... Myself and three other part timers in my department have been called in to the head teacher tomorrow 'to discuss staffing'. Really not sure what that is going to be all about! I suspect it will be difficult for me to have conversations about staffing and time tabling etc for next year when I know that I won't be here (fingers crossed....) but I must keep schtum, it is too early to tell her. Slightly nervous - it really does feel like being a naughty child called into the head teacher's office when she asks to see you! :rotfl:0 -

False hope or not, either way it has helped calm me down - which can only be a good thing. So a big thank you.Panicky, twitchy and all those other words sum up my feelings right now. But sadly, as my midwife doesn't work Mondays, there's nothing more I can do about it until tomorrow morning. So calmer is good.
Ooooo, intriguing! When I first read the beginning part of the paragraph I assumed your Head Teacher knew about your pregnancy and that maybe one or even both of the other part timers was expecting too?? So was calling you guys in to discuss how your maternity leave was going to work, etc? How many weeks are you, Daisiegg? I argue that it might be worth telling just your HT - I know it's such early days, but she may appreciate your honesty and not wasting her time in having such a meeting re: staffing, only for a spanner to be thrown in the works in a few weeks when you announce you're expecting! Stops you from stressing in your meeting tomorrow too, last thing any of us need is extra stress!
ETA: By the way, I know *exactly* what you mean re: being nervous when being called in to a meeting with the Head Teacher. :P Certainly does still have that element of being a naughty child being called into the Head's office!
