My Oh is being fantastic, which is great because I'm falling asleep on the couch after work. Haven't had to lift a finger since last sun! I don't expect it to last but I'm enjoying it while the goings good! Even taking up knitting - making a stuffed goose. Maybe I can give it my little one if everything goes to plan 😊

I'm so tired all the time. Given the choice I'd really do very little other than stay in bed! And I expect it will only get worse - but I'm not complaining. I've wanted this for long enough. :) I know this is totally tempting fate, but I keep hoping for some sign of morning sickness to make me more confident!

WTDN, you must be just about at 6 weeks too, since you tested the day after me. Although I think I waited for ages to test.
  • Yep 6 wks fri but I never thought if it until you mentioned it!

Really don't want morning sickness as I have a 40 min train commute to work and it's packed. You take the tube don't you? Nightmare!

T2D, I was kept on Prognova tablets until my early scan at 7ish weeks and had to keep using the crinone gel (vaginally) until 12 weeks. I had a bit of a panic when I stopped using using it-nothing happened, but psychologically I really worried about stopping it. But I am strange anyway ;)
Hope all you newbies are keeping well and getting your heads round being pregnant x

Arghh that would be a nightmare being sick on a busy train-don't envy you having to do that every day.

I teach secondary science and many a time in my last pregnancy I had to run out of my classroom to be sick, luckily I mainly teach sixth form so they didn't get up to to much mischief when I had to disappear, :D
  • Hi ladies, can I join please. I'm 6+6 with my first baby, had a scan at EPU on Friday due to some bleeding and saw my little bean with a strong heartbeat so feel ready to join now instead of just lurking.

Have been very sick some days, finding eating something before getting out of bed helps a bit, moved house over this weekend too so completely shattered today and not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow x
  • Welcome connie 1985 - how exciting to have had a scan already! Congratulations. Sorry the scan was because of bleeding but glad all is well.

We have been out for lunch and told my in-laws (first people). Telling my mum and grandmother next weekend. Keep thinking a mistake has happened but there's two positive pregnancy tests, one at the doctors. Plus this is out of the norm tiredness and my breasts have never been sore to wash in the shower before!
    Met DH to be 2010
    Moved in and engaged 2011
    Married 2012
    Bought a house 2013
    Expecting our first 2014 :T
  • Has anyone got one or thinking of using a Doppler? I am 9 weeks tomorrow and I would like one to try at 10 weeks.

I have read many reviews that say most women just pick up their own heartbeat so that puts me off a little. Does anyone know if the midwife will use a Doppler at my 15 week appointment? I may just wait until I have heard it for sure with the mw.

I was told that it is policy not to listen for a heartbeat before 20ish weeks at an appointment, as it isn't always possible to hear it which can cause unnecessary worry. I have one of the amazon dopplers at home and we use it every now and then and have found the heartbeat no problem apart from once when I was sitting instead of lying down.

Jen it depends where you live. Mine listened at the 16 week appt & wanted to try it at the 10 week booking one! You'll also see it at the 12 week scan so you've only got 2 weeks to go.
