    Hi all

Just popping over from the ttc thread as I got a bfp on Saturday and again on Sunday so I'm finally believing that it's actually happening!

According to my app I'm 4+2 but I think it might only be +1. So my likely due date is 31st Dec/1st Jan. A happy new year indeed!

So first question, when can I go to the docs? Is it too soon???

    PP x

Best to just call your GP surgery as they might refer you straight to midwife and no need to make an appointment. I called mine about 3 days after I found out about something else and mentioned it at the same time, the receptionist just gave me the number for the midwife and I went straight to them.

Welcome dozey crow and pink petal!

Pink petal I got an appointment as soon as I found out. The doctor referred me to the midwife and gave me some info and a form to book a scan.

When we got the positive test result we went and bought decaf tea and coffee. It's ok. Though I haven't been able to stomach it for a few weeks really.

The hen do went well. One of my friends totally guessed but didn't say anything and drank my free alcoholic drinks for me because I said I can't drink it. She did the whole glass swap thing too. Feel fortunate to have such lovely and mature friends! Although I'm not sure some of the antics would class us as mature :rotfl:

Sunday I had a terrible headache and was sick a couple of times. I also spent most of the day sleeping or being very emotional. It was because we didn't get home til 2am so I was exhausted. I had planned on going to the cinema as I thought I'd be fine and DH would be the one with the headache as he was on a stag do!

Only one more weekend til the scan. We both have the scan day off so will be nice to spend some time with DH after.

Hope everyone else is doing well.
  • Welcome PinkPetal, fab to see you here :j

And my EDD is 1 January 2017 too (if I go on first day of last AF).

I rang my GP today and they've booked me in for an appointment on 16 May which will be 7 weeks, is that too early? It's probably because I told her I was away the following week and then it's Bank Holiday week and I have that wedding the same week so away again. She seemed to think I was going to be 8 weeks though and I didn't correct her as I wasn't fast enough to count - will I be wasting time going?

JustMe - that's good about your friend. I think we have realised that we may not get away with me not drinking for a full weekend wedding so may spill the beans. In the meantime, I have no events and will take the car to anything spontaneous.
  • Hi all, sorry I have been away for a bit.

I had our trip to Italy which was amazing. Then last Wednesday was my grandfather's funeral. The day went OK, but I had bad 'belly ache' and me (and my mum) was worried invade something was wrong, but I have had no bleeding and still being sick so I think it was just the stress of the day.

On a brighter note we have our scan on Wednesday. And to me it cnt come soon enough. It feels like its been forever since I got my BFP. In reality it's been 5 weeks.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I've had a terrible day today, practically everything I've tried to eat has given me severe nausea. Surely 4 weeks is too early for all that?

Thanks for the advice on th doctor, I'll phone the surgery this week and ask their advice. I'm just a bit nervous as I'm 36 so I'll be considered high risk. Scary!

Rachy I don't think that's too early, I suppose there's not much they can do at that point but it gets the ball rolling! We'll probably be due around the same time!

Kynthia it does seem like ages to wait, I was saying that to dh earlier. I don't know how I'm going to cope. If they offered me an early scan I'd probably go for it, do you still get the 12 week one as well?

yes you do.. they have a set time period for the NT measurement so they do that scan as well.

My dating scan was 15 weeks.. I waited that long!!! and complained the whole time it would be too late for NT to be done.. I was of course right!

I'm paying for a private early scan so it won't affect my NHS scan dates. Last time i went to My Ultra Baby and ths time I've booked with Ultrasound Direct. I'm waiting until I'm 9 weeks though.

Don't worry about your age Pink Petal, I was 35 when I conceived my daughter and my age wasn't mentioned. I'm now nearly 38. They're much more concerned about blood pressure, family history of issues, developing gestational diabetes, etc.

Rachylou 7 weeks isn't too early for a GP appointment. All they do is take your details to refer you to the midwives, check your blood pressure, and ensure you're taking your vitamins.

Hi everyone, can I join you please?

Got a BFP last week and it's only just starting to sink in. I am 4+1 and according to the calculators due 2nd January 2016.

We're getting married abroad next month. We've been together a long time (I waited 10 years for a proposal :o) and just decided we couldn't wait any longer to start TTC, but we never thought it would happen so quickly! I had convinced myself it was going to take a long time.

It's my hen do coming up very soon. I've had to tell one of the girls because I knew she would guess as I had confided in her a lot about our plans to TTC. I'm planning on emptying a couple of bottles of wine and filling them with the non-alcoholic stuff, pretty sure I should get away with that.

So far I'm feeling fine, just SO tired! I feel like I'm constantly knackered but I can't sleep properly. I've been up since half 4 today! I'm also panicking slightly about feeling awful at the wedding in a few weeks time!
