Your are right. It's yours and your husbands child. They can but out. This is why we didn't tell anyone until after the first scan. My OH's parents are quite overbearing at times (meaning well) they wouldn't have left us alone for a minute if they'd known she was pregnant!Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

I'm the same as you sweetilemon - only 1 person's allowed into the scan with me, so that's OH. And our clinic charges £5 a print (for a flimsy bit of paper!) so no one else is getting one - I'll take a photo on my phone and share it round
9 weeks today - one more week survived! Does anyone else find that this time is really dragging? I'm desperate to get to the 12 week scan and know if everything's ok, but it seems so far away . . .0 -

It does indeed really drag, first 12 weeks are all just a waiting period for that first scan. If you're constantly looking at clock or calendar, then time does go slowly because you're more aware of it.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Yes BR, it seems like an eternity since we got our BFP, and our scan is still 2 weeks away as it's a bit late. I thought having had an early scan would reassure me, but I'm so anxious about the next scan in case something has gone wrong since 6 weeks
It's also rubbish to be feeling so poorly and not tell people why, I'm fed up of putting a brave face on at work when all I want to do is curl up in bed.:o

Yep littlemoog it's my mums first grandchild, so i sort of get she's excited, but i've got a much calmer approach to things and she's normally the same. I do tend to shut her down when she's going on or just ignore her, she laughs and says she scared to ask anything.
Our scan pics cost £5 each, which i think is expensive, £2 should more than cover the cost of a small picture and the amount they must print on a daily/ weekly basis im sure they would cover ink/ paper expenses. Plus people would be able to get parents copies without breaking the bank, as if it isn't going to cost a fortune over the next 18+ years anyway!!! :rotfl:hi0 -

I am feeling exactly the same LittleMoog (and we're almost due date buddies)! It has been such a long wait for this scan. Mine is a week on Friday and I can't decide whether I'm excited or petrified...! I'm also fed up of it not being common knowledge, I want some sympathy for feeling so terrible :rotfl:
Prints at my local hospital are £2 each which I still think is quite expensive, £5 each is extortionate!! We can print as many as we like, so we'll have to get 4 (us, one set of parents that are still together, then one each for the separated parents!)0 -
Delurking for a quick one. When we went for our scan we were tight and only wanted one picture (£5 each!) The nurse didn't ask how many we wanted, paid the money in the machine and handed the ticket over, got home and found they had actually put three in the folder anyway!
Back to lurking...see you on the 12+weeks thread...0 -
I'm so fed up today, I spent the afternoon throwing up at work, trying to be quiet in case anyone came in. All I want to do is curl up and sleep but I've got loads of work to do this week!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
