    Hi everyone.
Got my BFP the weekend, still in shock after 10 months of trying.
This will be my first and i don't really know what i should be doing, do i just call the drs and tell them???:o

Congrats Charlotte! Love how this thread is growing :T

First things first, make a GP appointment. In the meantime, if you haven't already, start taking folic acid and pre-natal vitamins.

Avoid hot baths! Only medium warm from now on :D
Stop changing the cat litter (if you have a cat!)

Congrats me Charlotte! I went to my drs and asked for referral to the local maternity unit then had booking in appt which included scan and bloods etc. I switched to pregnacare after I got bfp as it has everything in it.

Oh japmis poor you, hope you and oh sort things out. Big hugs. Is there anyone you can ring about scan?

Been to the GP this afternoon, actually saw a decent doc for a change. She did my maternity referral, seperate endocrinology and early scan referrals, agreed to increase my thyroxine dose to what the specialist recommended last time, and offered me a script for 5mg folic acid tabs, although my BMI is a bit under the threshold she thought it would be a good idea.

Hey guys, this post may contain a little too much information for some, but am after some advice.

I'm 6w+6d today. Have been nauseous for a couple of weeks, today I've physically been sick & been feeling nauseous all day. *TMI ALERT* I've just eaten dinner & gone to the loo, and when I wiped the discharge had a slight brown tinge to it. Has anyone else had spotting around this stage of pregnancy? I know some friends have said they've had spotting, but not 100% how common it is. I also haven't seen a doctor or midwife yet so not sure what to do! First midwife appt next Thursday, and seeing doctor next Friday (earliest I could get)

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes! Had exactly that last week at 7+4. Did go red (sorry for the TMI) and after 2 trips to hospital, 1doctors and a emergency private scan, all was fine. It could be a number of things, hormone / blood rush, inflamed cervix, general spotting, but was told that unless it becomes clotty and really heavy then everything should be fine. It's proper scary and still needs checking out, but try not to get get too worried (which I know is easier said than done as I wanted to punch everyone that said that to me last week!)

It is really common laura_hoggle, but keep an eye on it. If it continues/gets heavier you could ask GP to refer you to the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital, or you may be able to ring through to them yourself, procedure varies.

I had spotting a few times with my DD, after sex and also after a particularly violent bout of morning sickess. Fingers crossed all is well x

*niptuckfan* yes, I've go hypothyroidism. With my DD my dose went up by 50mcg after a bit of adjusting up and down. That time and with my mmc recently the GP and endo departments cocked up my referral and there was a big delay on getting dosage increased - GP refused, then appointments not scheduled til 10-12 weeks despite the NICE guidelines saying the dose should be increased asap in the first trimester.

I was ready for a fight today, but GP was fab.

Thanks TamVilla80 & LittleMoog, I thought as it was brown it seemed like it was old rather than new blood, and it was only when I wiped, not on underwear. As always Google has been my best/worst friend with reading up on it! I'm going to keep an eye overnight & if anything changes I'll call the docs tomorrow morning as they have an early morning triage list-I've had to wait 4 weeks for a GP appointment just to tell them I'm pregnant!

I have endometriosis and have been told in the past I have cervical ectropion/erosion so might be this. Thanks ladies, am having an early night tonight after feeling really rough today & a ridiculously busy long day at work! X
