  • Morning,

    Good luck today Rambosmum!

I started feeling a little sick when doing a few things yesterday, nothing came of it though. This morning I have a little smear of blood when I wipe. I am trying not to worry (easier said than done). I don't have my booking in app until 3rd Aug.

If bleeding gets worse do I call the EPU directly?

Highland lass- Do you have a midwife? If not call your GP. Our EPAU is only by referral and I think most are the same. If you can get a phone consultation from the GP they should be able to refer you without seeing you. I hope everything is ok.

    Enjoy Amsterdam Japmis.

Scan went well. They did all the measurements but couldn't get the downs one so I had to go for a walk and then go back in. Got 2 photos (£5 each!!). So I'll be heading off to the other forum now. Hopefully I will see all of you over there in due course.

They measure the thickness of the nuchal fold at the back of the neck, and that is combined with blood results, age and possibly BMI to give you a calculated risk for Down's. It normally arrives in the post a few weeks after scan.

Nuchal fold combined test- they measure the fluid at the back of the neck and also take bloods and bit of family history. They analyse it all and give you a likelihood e.g. 1:50 or 1:2500. It'll be a few weeks until I get the results. You can opt out of it if you want. When they send you your scan letter you get info on it then. I decided to have it not because I'd do anything if I found out our child was 'high risk' but so I could be prepared.

Edit: cross post with little moog, sorry
