    Hi All,

Just realised I'll be 12 wks tomorrow and I still haven't added myself to the list, have been following the thread though. EPS on 14th May have us an EDD of 18/12/15, which is 2 days later than my estimation, so turned out I was pretty close. We saw a hb, but as I've hardly had any sickness this time (only 3 bouts plus some nausea, compared to physically sick at least 5-6 times a day every day and a stone weight loss between 5.5 & 12 wks with our DD) I had convinced myself it wouldn't be good news at 12wks.

Feeling a bit more optimistic now, but wishing scan was tomorrow instead of Tuesday as we're going back to see my family this weekend. My dad is amazing, and I normally tell him everything ( well, almost!), but have been holding back about this as I think he'll worry and he had a heart attack when Dd (now almost 16 mo) was 2mo.

M-I-l caught me off guard a few weeks ago, when I stepped outside and was uncontrollably sick outside ( they live next door), so I'm wracked with guilt about it, but think I'm doing the right thing.

Had a really nasty pain low on the left when turning in bed this morning. Much sharper than anything with DD, it caused me to cry out in pain, so going to try and take it easy today. Hoping it was just a ligament stretching, but oh boy did it hurt!

I think this is a bit more of a 'until your end of first trimester scan' rather than a hard and fast 12 weeks!

I'm sure it will fine at the scan next week, but I totally understand your concerns. A heartbeat was picked up on my scan this week but you just never know what could happen between now and 6 weeks when my scan is.

Morning all. How is everyone today. I am 7 weeks today and it is dragging. Still waiting for my booking in appointment. My area is really densely populated and the maternity services are really stretched so not sure I will hear anything for another couple of weeks.

If I haven't heard by next week though, I might contact the EPU to see if I can get an early scan as I am getting really impatient about not knowing whats going on inside my tummy! Failing that, I'll go private if I have to.

Raining here. What happened to the heatwave we were meant to get.

How did your scan go bookgirl?

Hi all, hope you're all well (or at least not too nauseous!).

Thanks for the good wishes yesterday - our scan went really well and had about 30mins of watching baby wriggle away whilst they did lots of measurements. Measuring 56mm, exactly to my dates.

Harmony test results are v low risk (1:10000+) and combined nuchal and bloods 1:8673.

Feels like we can relax a bit now! Long wait to next midwife appointment at 16 weeks. I'll be off to the next thread shortly but will pop back to check you're all ok :)

  • Great news Bookgirl, happy to hear it! Your combined results came through quickly, did they give them to you there & then? With DD I seem to remember they took a week or so to come through. I see you mention the Harmony test, is that the reason you got both sets quickly, was it a private scan that they do there and then? Sory for all the questions, but I'm due to have a scan next Tuesday & hate waiting for results!

Yes, it was a private set of tests and scans. We went to the Fetal Medicine Centre in London. They do a scan at 10 weeks to confirm dates, and take bloods for both the Harmony test (which looks at baby's DNA in my blood) and the combined test. Then you go back at 12 weeks for the nuchal scan and get all the results on the day. We paid £400 for a package of scans and tests, and were really impressed with the time they took to explain everything and answer all our questions.

The NHS process for the combined test seems to be different, in that you have both the scan and bloods at about 11-13 weeks, and then the results come by post about two weeks later (or a phone call earlier if there are any concerns).

I would like to add myself to this thread. I had a chemical pregnancy after my April cycle at three weeks and managed to get pregnant again the next month in my May cycle!

AF was due last Sunday so still very early. This is my second baby but I am super cautious as I don't know a single person who has not had a miscarriage at around three months with their second baby, it seems so common :(

DH was so excited he told his mum right away. I am waiting until at least six weeks before I tell my mum though :)

welcome rose. Sorry to hear about your previous loss but congratulations on the BFP.

    good news bookgirl.

AFM- not much to report, I'm 7+3 and like devildolly I'm finding it's dragging a bit. I can't believe that it's only 3.5 weeks since I found out and it's already made such a massiveimpact.
