  • Forgotten the delightful nausea of last pregnancy. Eugh. And the exhaustion. Didn't help that DS was up from 4 this morning.

Takeaway and sleep tonight. Bye bye valentines romance!

  • Sorry your MS is so bad Katy. Hope it starts to ease off soon.

Pleased you had a good scan Keza, it's nice not having to wait too long. We will have only had to wait 4 weeks between our private and 12 week scan, which is a week tomorrow!

This pregnancy feels so different from my 1st. Until this morning the MS has been a lot easier, only being sick once first thing each morning. That changed today to the not being able to keep anything except hula hoops down phase! In addition to the MS I have been crazy tired all the time, which I didn't have before. I spent most of last week laying down on the sofa, only dragging myself out to pick DD up from school before flopping straight back down again. I also had a 4 day headache and I've had palpitations on and off for the last week. Boy, this is fun!

Was supposed to take DD to cinema today but had to rope in my mum to do that. Hope things ease off as DH and I are taking her to see Cats in London on Wednesday and then on Thursday I'm supposed to be driving us to the town we used to live in, an hour away, to meet up with friends we haven't seen in a year!

    Hope everyone is doing well.
I've been stuck in bed the past week so not really been able to update.
I haven't been sick since starting on the medication, which is brilliant. I do still feel sick but am not actually vomiting.
The downside is the medication makes me feel awful! I have been sleeping most of the time, and when not sleeping I can't stand up for long before going very dizzy.
I start back at work next week so am hoping either I get used to the meds or can start weening myself off them otherwise I am going to be useless.
I can't really have any more time off either, work are not happy at all. I read somewhere about needing to work my full-time hours until so long before the due date otherwise I get less maternity pay? Will my sick leave affect this?
Money is a major worry at the moment and I have no idea how we will cope when I cannot work, and I don't want to end up losing my job through being off too much.
I really wanted to enjoy this pregnancy as we have wanted it so long, but at the moment all I can see are problems :(

I so envy you lot who don't have morning sickness, you are so lucky!
  • Hi everyone, mind if I join? :)

I got my BFP on Sunday after 8 months trying, think I'm 5+4. The midwife called today, which was really awkward as I was at work so had to basically leave the building so no one overheard! My booking in apt is 13 March.

As this is our first pregnancy we are completely clueless and paranoid! I don't really have many symptoms, and while I certainly don't want the morning sickness I wish I felt more pregnant! I know its still early days though :)

I hope your body gets used to the meds Katy, and you feel better soon musogirl!
  • Hope you feel better Katy, must be awful :S

Hi all. I got my bfp yesterday after having IVF. Never been pregnant before so am so excited but nervous too. sorry if it's TMI but am having brown discharge since yesterday. Spoke to clinic and they have said it's due to having to take Crinone which is a progesterone gel. Still worried though.

Have my first scan booked in for the 5th March.

  • Congratulations skaps!! What wonderful news for you :) hope the discharge means nothing, I think that means it's old blood and there's only reason for worry if it's red/fresh?

    Hi
Yes they said its because of the Progestrone gel that I have to take until I am 12 weeks.

    Thank you.

Sorry didn't see this skaps, should have posted it in the 12+ thread.
When I had crinone for one round (the round I actually got a BFP, albeit ectopic) I had chronic discharge, brown and sometimes even black wih a consistency of wallpaper paste (sorry!) and it was all from the crinone, it had also irritated my cervix causing some discomfort and bleeding from there. Was told it as very common with crinone gel.
