Hi ladies. I've been stalking but decided to introduce myself because I'm feeling fed up. My EDD is 9/9/15 with baby number 2. My scan is booked for 26th Feb, although I had an early one at 6 weeks due to a bit of bleeding. All was well though fortunately.
I'm currently signed off work with HG, and am going slightly stir crazy. I'm a teacher at a secondary school so really just couldn't cope with the daily grind.

  • Welcome Twinklie! You're my EDD twin! Sorry to hear you've got HG. Touch wood, I'm not too bad so far, but was prepared for the worst after very long lasting morning sickness with my DD. Mostly so far I am just plain exhausted. The other night I went to bed at 6.30pm and stayed asleep until 7am the next morning. I then proceeded to have a 2 hour nap in the afternoon before going back to bed at 9pm!

Can you live off salt and vinegar crisps and coca cola? Seems to be the only thing I can keep down. The peanut must be going hyper in there with all the sugar!!

Oh no. Coke has caffeine in it. Shudder.
I'm eating more now, it's just keeping it down that's my issue.
I have a consultant appointment on the 3rd which I'm assuming is to talk about my low BMI alongside the other two risk factors making me higher risk. I'm secretly hoping if I'm not better by then they will give me a magic cure...I bloomin need one!!!

Yeah I know caffeine is bad. It's either that or not drinking anything at all though. Even water comes straight back up. Tried making some jelly to see if that would work but still doesn't stay down :(

How about caffeine free coca cola? It has a slightly different taste thou.
Touch wood, the morning sickness was short lived and it only lasted 4 days at worse. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and have the biggest bump. it is my second but I'm a twin  i have my scan on friday as my dates are out according to the docs so time will tell. hope u feel better soon ladies!

  • thats me had my 12 week scan, and have been dated at 12+3 :D

baby was flipping about and doing a little dance, much to OHs amusement. though it worked in our favour as we got to watch baby for 30mins whilst the technician tried for the measurements :p

so i suppose thats me off to the other board. am so relieved everything is ok and really want others not to worry if they don't have any pregnancy symptoms / morning sickness. i suppose it is just luck.

Katy - have you tried munching on ice poles? a friend of mine swore by it. it allows you to hydrate without feeling you are drinking

    all the best xx

I wasn't casting judgement on the caffeine by the way. It's just since I got pregnant with my first I cant cope with or stand the smell of it. Knocks me sick.
Ice cubes and ice pops are awesome. I'm best at drinking cloudy lemonade but over the last few days can have decaf tea again.
And as for lacking pregnancy symptoms, I did with my first - defo just count yourself lucky and try not to worry.
