Congratulations Claire! I would just ring and ask who you need to see. In my area you have to see dr but i know they skip that part in some areas.

You have reminded me i still haven't sorted flu jab, think will ring after my scan.

Yup, they skipped it and booked me straight in with the midwife for 4th December. Apparently she'll do my flu jab at the same time too

Hi all,

I'm also a new one, though I've been lurking for a while finding it hard to believe its real. According to the standard counting I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, but I suspect I'm actually about a week behind that as I ovulate pretty late. I had my booking appointment last week, and I'm booked in to get blood taken on Wednesday for all the tests.

I did about 7 tests back when I first found out, but I've had so few symptoms I wanted to do another before my midwife appt, but I couldn't find any of the leftover tests I have somewhere in the house I'm sure its actually still fine, it just seems so weird. They don't bother doing any extra test here, they just take your word for it, so I'm hoping its still in there!

It will be my first, I'm 34 and by husband is 32, we got married last June and have been trying since August so we are very excited. 2014 has been quite the year as we bought our first house in April too!

I'm joining aswell. I've actually been lurking for a few weeks but I'm really struggling to get my head around being pregnant again that I didn't really want to join yet. This will be our forth baby, first time round was twins and i was very ill and they were very early, second time round i had severe spd and could hardly walk. So given that hubby was going for the snip :eek: talk about surprised!

I'm very crampy more than I even was at a tiny size 8 having twins! and I'm very sick I got anti-sickness tablets last week but I'm still being sick around 3 times a day. Sad thing is that's still a huge improvement on the last fortnight.

I feel really useless, the kids don't know so they just think I'm sick and in bed all the time. I feel like I'm letting them down already. We have a scan on Thur so I will be telling them then.

Hello and welcome to all the new posters. I can't believe how many bfps there has been on the ttc thread this week!!

I've decided my area must be pants as I'm almost a month ahead of Claire_A87 but our booking in appointment is the same day!!

Went to the Dentist today and told my dentist I'm expecting, and although I don't have my exception card yet I still didn't have to pay!!

Have been feeling odd today- just not feeling myself and feeling a bit quiet and withdrawn today, plus just been feeling a bit emotional today- like I'm ready to burst into tears on a few occasions.

I too went to the dentist today and told him I was preg. No need to pay and he doesn't want to see me until after I have given birth so 12 months. Mad!

Still feeling sicky. Wanna eat but cant - a few mouthfuls in and ive had enough. So i've adopted the eat little and often approach. Soo tierd been wanting to go to bed since 730. Little lady just gone to sleep so i'll go now! I have huge insomnia right now. 5 nights i've not slept properly for!!

Welcome to the board new ladies, and congratulations!

Pink - hubby came upstairs yesterday to find me in tears - "what's wrong?!" he asked with concern, "the Sainsburys Christmas advert" said I... he just laughed, I was teary eyed at the Paddington Bear trailer at the cinema last week. Have burst into tears twice in the shower this week, just from worry, but trying not to!

Hormones mixed with fatigue is bound to make us weepy!

I go offline for a couple of days, come back on and suddenly everyone is pregnant! Congratulations to all of you , it's lovely to see so many of you moving over here from the TTC thread - a baby boom indeed.

I felt like this too, but thankfully it's just a phase. Even though we were NTNP, I fell on the first month of our agreeing of this. I've had enough of waiting for my scan now, only 3 more days to go, but it really seems to have dragged. By my calcs, I'm 12 weeks today but won't move over to the 12-24 just yet! When I do, I'll certainly be popping in to see how all you lovelies are doing.


Nausea has all but gone now, thank goodness! It was really beginning to wear me down. I have to say I have been the moodiest person ever since I've been pregnant. I agree with everyone else, hormones really do take their toll on you.
